I can't wait for the updates!
Well, I took it to a friends house and tried it on a different TV and it worked first go! So, I think it's just a bit temperamental. However, the RF cable broke because it got stuck in the TV...
But yeah, I'm looking into an AV cable or something. I'm just a bit reluctant to mod it because it has a warranty, and I wanted to know that it would work before trying to mod it... Also, I haven't really seen many comprehensive mod guides...?

Okay, thanks! I've got a friend who also has one, so I'm going to get him to lend me it and compare and see if I can get one of them to work and go from there as well... Hopefully that will help diagnose it further... and hopefully it's not hardware...
*btw loving your work on YMDJ! It's mainly why I bought the Megadrive... haha

So, today, I semi-impulse bought a Mega Drive II, and upon returning home and scrolling for what seemed like eternity to get the right frequency on the TV, the screen burst into life and Streets of Rage began... however, there was no funky fresh FM to be heard from the MD... I tried another TV with similar results... Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? Or is the thing stuffed...?

Ah, thank you so much guys!! I didn't think it was the famicom... haha Looks interesting, although I might just stick with the Mega Drive for FM sounds...

we have the technology
So, you'd have to use an eprom in a VRC7 equipped cart to do that? How does one even find one of those carts?!

Okay, so, I was watching Reformat the Planet (for like, the 100th time) and this bit with Hally playing at blip came on. It's at around 9:30 in this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7pwsfA

I can't seem to figure out what's going on here... I mean, I can see two famicoms there, but the sound is nothing like a famicom! There's FM stuff going on for sure... So, yeah, can anyone please enlighten me as to what's going on?! I'm so curious...

These look alright, especially the therapsid:

Also, the MidiVampires and similar give some nice lo-fi, chip-esque sounds.
Oh, and look for some nice cheesy second-hand midi modules. They'd probably fit the bill. Especially something like a Yamaha FB-01.

Re: Red Bull Music Academy presents Diggin' In The Carts (43 replies, posted in General Discussion)
The best part of the episode 2 for me is when Kageyama says he quitted music because he wasn't aware of any recognition to his.
It made me think : "True, we have now soundcloud, bc and all this stuff, and internet more generally, so we can spread our music and receive (or not) recognition for it, but at that time you just enjoyed the music when playing the game and couldn't check it out elsewhere and/or contact him to tell him how much you love what he makes, so you eventually came to forget the composer, only remembering his melodies, leaving him totally unrewarded for his effort."
How harsh is it to put the best of yourself in creating a piece for people to enjoy it knowing you won't have any feedback or praise on it, and that nobody will know you for that ?
This is so true. I feel like sending him a long letter of thanks now... along with many other artists, just to let them know how much I've appreciated their work...
