Thankd Deer wink. The idea is that the music is playing in Carf his 8bit world so I only hear it like its coming from a small speaker phone.
In the end the sound could have been better indeed but I am learning from every project that I do wink.

You should not take things THAT seriously ;p it is all about the vibe and style.

Thankx 3ndymion! Always trying to find new and crazy ways to enhance my music wink.

Not sure if (´・_・`) is supposed to be positive or negative...

For my upcoming album Pixel Me Square I created a second trailer.
This time my 8bit alter ego is trying to get my attention while I have been working day and night for my little fellow...
sadly he does not let me get a little bit of extra sleep which I need so much right now...

Check out this trailer and tell me what you think smile! Lets merge 8bit and real life and pixel stuff square!

As I always try to find new ways to merge my music with other creative projects I decided to create an interactive
studio tour for my new album by using with RPGVX (ace) to create a playground for my sounds.

Well... what started with a studio became a complete complex including a simulator that is able to create an
mini-rpg game to test the music on the games (this is all in context of the little ongoing story Dark and Darko).

So I am proud to present to you (another one of) my merge of RPGVX and my crazy love for 8bit music.

After playing around and looking for the best way to work out an 8bit music video I decided to use
RPGMAKER (RPGVX-ACE) would be the best solution to expand my creative world.
The very first episode of Dark and Darko is my very first music video that is taking my creative alter ego on an 8bit trip
and will probably be extended with more songs/stories!

Please check out the video and let me know what you think smile.

I am a producer for 16 years and I am not thinking about stopping anytime soon no matter what. Life has tried to stop me but as I already explained in my introduction I refuse to give up.

First reason is that I create music for me and myself only, and there are many tracks that will stay in my personal library but still we all want recognition in what we are doing so of course I do release the tracks that I am proud of.

Second reason is that I refuse to stop doing what I love doing even when 50% of my hearing just died two years ago. I stopped creating for four months but then things started nagging in the back of my head. After a good conversation with myself I decided to pick things up again and do it radically different. No more lauzy trance and wanna be hiphop. I started creating what I always loved so much, videogame music inspired by the old chiptunes of the good old NES and Genesis.

Nowdays this IS what let me keep my head up in times when I do feel down. Yes I did lose something precious (hearing in stereo) but it also made me stronger knowing that even this does not let me stop doing what I love doing. So motivation is nothing but a personal thing.

Do you make music for yourself or are you trying to do something to impress others with?
If your answer is the first then I am sure you will reach what you want as long as you believe and don't give up dreaming.
if its the second... then I wish you good luck.

Keep up the creativity!

Its not how you get there, its all about the end result.

As lame as it might sound I simply changed the G from Garfield to a C and then Carfield was born. Not very original I now but one night while showing some music to my older brother he just mentioned that the name sounds like car-field to him. That just annoyed the hell out of me so I just got rid of the ield part... and ended up with Carf. Nowdays its just Carf, or Carfie, or fully named Carfie Darko, it just depends on my mood ;p.

This song is the one that has been picked up by the YT community just within 24 hours.
After being used in VintageBeef his movie ShellShock things has been going wild and
it has been the start of a wonderful year.

I hope that this song gets the same appreciation over here as it is one of my personal favorites.

Enjoy!

Hi Fellow chiptuners and oldschool gamers!

It seems that I found a very interesting new place to find inspiration and share my own personal world of sounds.
I am Carf (or Carfie, or Carf Darko, depends on the mood) a 31 year old(school) gamer/producer/gametester from Leiden (former Amsterdam, only a month ago ;p) and I would love to share my personal collection of crazy chiptunes.
I am a creative producer for 16+ years by now and a gamer for 28+ and it seems that these numbers will only go up as I do not see any reason to stop making music. Although my big friend the universe made it pretty hard for me the past 2 years... I lost hearing in my left ear due to an infection and now I only got my right ear to tell me if the awesomenes which I try to create is awesome enough to give it the 100% Carf seal of awesomeness.

Due to these issues I totally quit making Dance and other styles of music 2 years ago and completely went into Chiptunes, this due to the fact that I am missing to much frequencies and I do not feel the same love for dance music anymore.
Since I started to create Chiptunes I do feel that a complete new world opened up to me, a world with fewer rules and guidelines and a much more open minded audience.

My music is mostly very rock stylisch, fast paced and with a crazy mix of sounds. Always something going on in the background (which most people discover after their first listen) and I always try to come up with something original. Love doing crazy things like making epic breaks.
My tools are FL-Studio including a bunch of crazy VST's. Its all about the end result.

So far my music has been picked up by IGN's podcast Beyond (episode 248), I helped out Matpat with Gametheory and I am the resident producer for RetroReview (facebook retro game page). But my hunger aint satisfied yet. I hope to find a bigger audience by visiting places like these and hope to find fresh inspiration for even more crazy songs!

Keep up the creativity. Thanks for reading.
Now for the awesomeness!
