At the moment I have multiple projects on the go at once and often find myself stuck, unable to work out how to prioritise them and the best way to be productive in all of them.

Currently I am in a band, write chiptune music, run my own clothing brand and teach karate on top of my job.

I just wanted to hear your opinions on what you feel the best way to cope multiple ongoing projects is and how to ensure you can be productive in all of them whether its through serious planning of just finding every spare second you can to do something?

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated!

I've been writing tracks using LSDJ since the middle of last year and wanted to see if I could get some feedback for a few of the tracks I've recorded? Its not everything I've written but the three below are a selection!

Kerfuffle:

Tripped:

Light Tears:

Any feedback or CC would be greatly appreciated, especially considering I'm intending on doing open mic nights soon as well as my slot on the open stage at Grok day!

I have figured it out it seems one of the layers did not come off when removing the old polarising layer.

Katsumbhong helped me out in the end and its now all sorted!

Newbie errors, if this thread could be deleted that'd be great!

Cheers though!

pictures would help a lot,

did you let the alcohol dry completely before putting in the backlight?  it might be the surface tension (or whatever) causing the two pieces to hold together isn't letting the rest evaporate

also, black blobs on the screen might be an indication you cracked it.  so, pictures would help a lot

I'm attempting to install the purple kitsch LED x3 backlight into my original Gameboy, I am following the instructions for it but whenever I place the backlight onto the area in which I have used rubbing alcohol to remove the adhesive it forms a black blob almost as if the backlight is still sticking to the screen.

I booted it up like this and it was almost impossible to see the screen. Once taken apart again I scrubbed the area again but that didn't appear to make any difference and it still stuck to the glass.

I would like to know firstly if this is a common problem and how to get around it and secondly how clear does the glass need to be before its suitable for use with a backlight?

Any help would be appreciated, I can try and upload pictures if it will help anyone!

FYI - I just did this procedure yesterday with a Kitsch shell. The fit is *real* tight, but you barely even have to hot glue/epoxy it in there because it's so snug. Just the right amount of space between battery compartment and side.

The tutorial above (from ASMRetro, I think) worked for me, although on my DMG (and I suspect this is the case for most) the extra board that you need to switch sides doesn't have enough wire length to go over to the right side. I installed the 1/4" prepot and confirmed it works great, but I can't close the case until I get some more wire and 'extend' the wires on the extra board so that I can move it all the way over to the other side and tuck it in.

I can provide a pic if this doesn't make sense.

Thank you very much!

The installation is the same but in order to get it to fit you have to move the board from the bottom left.

I think that with Kitsch cases you can fit the 1/4 jack in the bottom right but in original cases there isn't room for it.

Yeah thats what I was thinking but some proper instructions would be great to just confirm!

Im pretty sure its done the same way  making sure you have a Stereo 1/4 female jack. ask Katsumbhong. He does a lot of 1/4 pro sound mods

Recently got a 1/4" prosound mod for my birthday for my second DMG and want to install it, but I have only found this documentation regarding the installation of the 1/8" mod:

I would like to know if theres any full documentation/instructions regarding the installation of the 1/4" prosound mod specifically or whether it is installed in the same way as the 1/8" version?

Help would be appreciated!

This sounds awesome!! I will definitely sub for future updates!

I've put up some of the tracks I've written so far last week onto my soundcloud and some CC would be greatly appreciated.

I have written over the last few months.

Awesome thanks! Was actually looking at RCA cables this morning so I'm glad to hear its worth a purchase!

Once plugging it into a mixer I would also need to get my hands on a RCA to 1/4" cable for the output right?

It depends! If you have panning notes (and I'm assuming you do due to your first post) they will still be converted to mono if you have an RCA to jack adapter (i.e. your notes won't disappear but they won't pan because your signal is mono). Your best bet is to either use an RCA mixer or use 2 channels on the mixer (or 1 stereo channel, which is what I do).

Ok, thanks! So what setup (cables/mixer) do you use then for gigs and things and how do you physically plug each thing in where? I just really want to get out and do shows but have very little idea about the equipment i need!

I have some basic knowledge, but I'm trying to research and learn as I go.

You're plugging it into a mono amp or using a mono convertor jack. Thats why you're not hearing panning commands. Get a 1/8 to RCA cord and plug it into a mixer.

EDIT: Spelling.

Using a prosound gameboy with an external 1/8" inch jack is it possible to use a long cable attached to a small converter (making it 1/4") and plug it directly into a DI box or the equivalent to play live?

I was also wondering if it is possible to maintain the left and right outputs by only using one cable? As when I plug it into my amp at home it mutes certain L or R notes.

Any links/help would be great into pointing me towards gear I may need and also sharing your own set ups would be awesome!
