These look really excellent, and I'm planning on ordering one, but I have to wait until after my move next month. Looks like I'll be dipping into the next batch!

Re: What is everyone working on? (66 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Every night I pour myself a glass of wine, turn all my gear on, and play until I'm too tired to continue. I rarely record though, so am I working on something or just dicking around? I tell myself that I'm honing my skills...

Re: Nanoloop ios/android should have the same feature set as the gba nano (14 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I use the mobile version when I'm chilling somewhere waiting for someone, or standing in line, etc. Works pretty damn good for that . Every time I'm at home with my other gear I exclusively use my DMG, since I don't really know how to sync the mobile version with the rest of my gear. I've only messed with the sampling ability a little bit. Seems like there's been quite a bit of Nanoloop discussion on the board lately!

Layer it with the clap. Good stuff.
I do the same. The Beats has really found a place in my heart, especially when paired with percussive sounds from Nanoloop.

Excellent, I'll update this evening! What has changed since 1.7.5?
Edit: Just updated to 1.7.6, everything is now working well!

Just tested out a new set-up with Nanoloop 1.7.5 acting as master clock, and it functions flawlessly. This info may be useful for someone wishing for a dead reliable way to sync Nanoloop to a Microbrute as well, provided you have a Korg SQ-1. And really, why wouldn't you? Here's how I have things set up:
Nanoloop is set to "C" sync mode, and it's sending sync out using a cable I built according to the instructions on Oliver's page. The sync from Nanoloop runs into a chain of the 3 original Korg Volcas, and the sync out from the last Volca in the chain runs into the sync in on a Korg SQ-1. The SQ-1 drives a Microbrute via CV and Gate. I set every device in the chain to play a note (a kick drum, in the case of the Volca Beats) on the first step in the sequence, then left the whole thing running for an hour. Everything was still flawlessly synced when I came back.
I couldn't be more pleased. A Game Boy controlling a whole chain of modern analog synths? Awesome!!!

Re: nanoloop 1.7 (60 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
- you held SELECT during startup, which forces the cart to boot the original version,
- you held SELECT+START which erases the update
- there was a crash in which the first bytes of the update were overwritten
I'm not holding SELECT during boot, or pressing SELECT+START, so I'm thinking the third option sounds most likely. To update I'm following the procedure described on the nanolooop update page exactly, which works without any problems for 1.7.5.
I've tried updating to 1.7.6 using the Chrome interface, nlmidi on mac, and nlmidi on PC. I've also used 2 different cords. That should rule a few variables out Each time the update appears to be installed successfully, the Game Boy boots into 1.7.6 after pressing start, and the program functions normally. After turning the system off and then on again a few minutes later the rhomb appears as normal, but when I press start it boots into 1.6.3. Hopefully that should give you something to work with. Thanks for the help!
