I have a massive urge to recreate this with the LSDj speech synth. Just to push the point home. Damn word limit, i'll need the DAW!

I LOVED playing with DS-10, but found it too limited for any real sequencing. I had high hopes for M01D, but not being able to play with the sounds limited me in different ways - even if the actual composition side was way more robust.

This looks like the best of both worlds, and I'll definitely be purchasing it, even if I barely end up using it. Detune deserve my money just for doing things like this

Super easy - all you need is a soldering iron.

I've had dodgy screens before that I've fixed this way, but I didn't seem to have any contrast wheel related issues you seem to have, so there may be more going on with yours...

Added a custom screen cover to Michelangelo. Colour is a bit weak, but overall I'm happy with how it turned out.

LSDj in a half shell.

Noice! Definitely looks sharper than my GBAsp-recovered lighting job.

Depending on price, I might be interested. I like random shite!

There is a similar (old) thread already, but unfortunately I cannot bump it due to being new around here. If mods want to merge this onto the bottom of that thread, go ahead.

This is my physical patchbook, for jotting down great instruments I uncover - apologies for terrible pictures.

Cover:-

Pulse page:-

Wave page:-

I also have pages for tables, noise instruments, and custom waveforms.

The whole thing is on 8 pages of A4/letter paper, which when printed double-sided, cut/guillotined along the line, folded vertically, then stapled/bound is ready to go. It is slightly bigger than a DMG, but fits inside my case just right. I have made a PDF (without "Category's Sounds" written on the front) that you can feel free to use. So easy, even a child could put this together. If your printer doesn't do double sided, just print odd pages, flip the sheets, and print the even. Simples.

The whole thing was knocked up in Microsoft Publisher whilst bored, working nights in my office. I may tweak a few bits (thinking of adding a "notes" area to each instrument page). If anybody wants to tweak it for their own, I'll happily chuck the publisher files up.

Enjoy!

So much this.

That's pretty badass. You should put an arduinoboy inside one (or both)!

If I've learnt anything from GTA, you never need to land a helicopter - just keep a parachute handy

Nice, I've been working on making my next a midiboy. What have you done with the display LEDs in these? I can't seem to see them...

I played with this a few years back when I was deep learning about the DS homebrew scene. I'll try and bang a track out, some nice features in 0.4 that weren't there when I last toed with it, so I may have to try and knock something together!

Hey, new member here, been lurking a while though. Thought I'd share my half finished project, and first real gameboy mods. I'm building a live-setup with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme. First up is Michelangelo:-

Clear green, with orange buttons and backlight, prosound modded. Messed up on the 1/8" Jack though - the one I bought didn't have a long enough stem to get the nut on the outside, so had to glue it into the case. Still alright though! Case, buttons and backlight came from fretwanger's online store.

Then we have Raphael:-

Painted keyboard, DMG-07 cable wired up internally. Wiring came out clean, paint job not so much. My paint and clear-coat aren't quite compatible, so it looks far from professional, but I'm happy with it overall.

For Donatello, I have a CGB I'm going to paint, front light, and internally prosound. Leonardo will be another DMG, most likely an "all the mods" style now I'm more comfortable with it. Biverted at the least, hopefully will do an internal arduinoboy too, if I can find space. Maybe in the battery compartment, as I think I'm going to get a rechargeable battery in there instead of AAs, so should free up some room.

Man, I've just read this entire thread, and your mods are top-notch dude. TOP. NOTCH.

Would be good to see you finish the frankenkeyboard but I don't think I could live without the numberpad on my keyboard. Those shortcuts are some of the best!

Any photos of your install? If it's in the "normal" place, and you used a socket with a plug switch, I imagine imagine your switch legs are touching the cap legs. That'd heat it up pretty good!
