But you've been member for more than six months. People will be confused as hell.

OK FINE! The problem now is that I'll get weekly messages from people who just realized they used the wrong capitalization in their name.

Can you change OK FINE in to small letters? It looks weird when you capitalize those words. big_smile big_smile

Hello everybody!

My name is Carlos and I am a musician from Argentina. I play different instruments, mainly alto saxophone and guitar. I love very different kinds of music.

You can here music (not chip) made by me following the links:

http://archive.org/details/SureLikeABone

http://archive.org/details/VacacionesEn … oundsAlbum

http://archive.org/details/BizaraLando

http://archive.org/details/LosBarcosSolaresDeRapaNui

The first one is mainly blues-rock, the other three ones are experimental. You can donwload them for free.

Though I heard chip music when I was a teen and had my Commodore 64 (yes, I´m that old!) I´m novice in this field. At that time I found some interesting music software like Kawasaki Rhythm Rocker and Kawasaki Synthesizer. However I didn´t learned to make music with my computer when I was younger. I also have in my memory the music of a game I used to play "Aztec Challenge", that music was great.
Recently, thanks to internet, I begun to found new music made by artists nowadays catching the spirit of those days.
So I decided to join this forum to learn more about it.
I have few experience composing chiptunes, I made a piece with TFM Music Maker and also recorded a jam with the sequencer of the game boy camera plus alto sax and electric bass (wich is not really a chiptune). I´m working on some other things but I´m  kind of cheating here as I´m using samples created with vintage computers emulators and a modern score editor, as it is easier for me to write in a partiture than to write in a tracker. But nothing more than these for now.
So I hope that joining this place will be a learning experience for me.

Hello everybody, I'm Christian from Italy and i start play chipmusic this year. I play guitar since I'm 15 (now I'm an old 31 guy...) and occasionally play drums and bass guitar. I love electronic music & noises and i began with synthesizers like monotribe and leploop. When I discovered chipmusic i just bought one DMG and a GBA sp and nanoloop 1.3-1.6-2.5 then start having fun! I've also found this forum that gives me a lot of good informations and so I decide to join it.
P.S. sorry for my poor english

hey my name a Mark and i recently started using KurKami as my nickname (i misspelled KuroKami as ign name once and it kinda sticked) i'm currently 19 years old

i've been playing classical music as a child (first accordeon then Piano) and started composing on my 12th or something (shitty stuff of course tongue) then as i grow older i started listening hardcore and later different kind of music (dubstep, drum and bass, idm, Nu Jazz, metal, modrern classical, chiptune, 8bit and lots of stuff in between)

the first chiptune alike song i heard was when my brother made me listen to Slagsmalsklubben witch i instantly loved. Then a year later someone said hey you should listen to unicron kid so i did. via via via i then found Henry Home sweet and fell completely in love with the genre.

By change i stumbled on a stumbled on a song from him made in Famitracker with the file in it. After many failed attempts of finding a music system i understood (as i was used to classical notation that was hard) i finally found something i liked to use with a professional example. since then i'm making tracks when i feel like it

I mainly use a very chaotic style of composing as i randomly switch between parts and like achromatic music very much but lately i'm trying to make that less.

i'm KurKami and i like chaos

Hi, this is actually Terbografx posting under my band's new account. It's pretty much 3 of us: myself on GB and casio, one dude on bass, and another dude on drums. Music coming soon!

The past year I've been on this site has really helped me grow as a chip musician, so thanks to all of you for being some chillers!

Austin, Texas

Greetings,

My name is T, and I've been an alcoholic for three years.

Really though, my name is Cameron, and I'm an Austin native who's been into the chip/demoscene community for a few years now. I believe my first big experience was Datapop 2009 during SXSW? Man, it's been a while…

Anyway, I've been an avid listener for years, but just recently committed enough to buy dedicated hardware (flash carts), and start refurbishing my equipment—I bought a bunch of broken DMGs on clearance over the years and I've just about finished repairing most of them. I've never felt adequate as a musician, and it's actually a huge personal insecurity I'll have to deal with sooner or later—that's why it's taken me so long to get this involved. I'm a lot better with computers and electronics than I am with music, so maybe I can overcompensate my way into musicianship. tongue

The Austin scene is small now, and mostly overlaps with our larger noise music scene. Hopefully I can reacquaint myself with the people I've met over the years (or you lovely new people) and we can start putting together dedicated chip shows again.

Hi!

I'm Adam. I've loved chiptunes since I played my parents' NES back when I was but a wee babe, and have recently found the means to produce them. Before venturing into chiptunes, I learned to play the euphonium, tuba and trombone in highschool, and am currently a euphonium performance minor in college. I'm currently learning Famitracker for my chiptunery, though I also have Nanoloop for my Droid and aim to pick up LSDJ for my clear Game Boy, just to see what all the fuss is about.

You can find me under the name Robot Sex Apocalypse on Soundcloud by following the link below. I'm by no means good yet, but I'm dedicating the summer to getting good at Famitracker, so hopefully I'll have something to show for it.

I look forward to bringing my band geek training into the chipmusic world to do some cool stuff I don't know if people are doing yet.

Also, if anyone wondered, my biggest musical inspirations in the VGM world are Nobuo Uematsu's work in the old FF games (specifically 1, 4 and 6) and the Megaman and Megaman X series.

Hey, I'm Alex!

I'm one of (I believe, and for the record would love to be wrong) two chip artists in Lexington, KY.  If you have trouble distinguishing us, Solarbear has the better facial fuzz.

I've been chipin for about 2 years now, and I sing and play guitar over it.  Shamelessly bitpop.

I've been rockin my completely stock PiL yellow DMG for way to long, and will beg for help while I try to make it what I want it to be.

You can find me at these places if you want to listen to me

Hey everyone, I'm Connor. smile I'm an Electronic Production student in Boston, one who lurrrves his chiptunes. In a fit of nostalgia one night, I downloaded the (awesome) soundtrack to Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, and from that ended up discovering the wonderful world of chip tracking. I'm really enjoying listening to all of the great chipmusic on this website and others, and am finding it quite a lot of fun to listen very hard to every track and think, "how is he getting that particular sound?" I've got some tracks up here and and on my soundcloud (http://soundcloud.com/soleviio) and I'd love it if you guys would let me know what you think!

Anyway, I've quickly realized what a wonderful community this is, and I can't wait to get to know all of you a lot better than I do! Happy chipping everyone smile
