Love the blit flafter shirt design, but no Men's large or XL? Bummer man.

It crashed if I saved while playing the track on my micro. It did successfully save though. Seems like saving worked better when playback was paused.

Wow, great work!

Another idea would be to simply solder the arduino into the board without the headers, I'm sure you've thought of that though.

Do you have more details of the actual functionality of this board? Why are two arduinos needed? How is it powered during operation?

How hard would it be to power the unit off the 4 AA's the gameboy uses? And while you're at it, why not include an on/off switch where the original one went?

Is that an easy enough process that I can do myself? It's already on my the cart being sent to me but if I want to add extra sample kits I'll obviously have to patch the rom again.

Yeah it's super easy. I used GBA Tool Advance which is available here: http://www.no-intro.org/tools.htm

MIrror here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2JWZb … sp=sharing

Just use the tool to "fix header" and that's it!

Good news guys! I patched the header and sure enough, it works on my EZFlash IV! Doesn't seem to be perfect, but it's definitely working!

Here's the patched rom: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2JWZb … sp=sharing

It's both patched for the header as well as for use with an EZ Flash IV.

That would explain why when I boot it on my ezflash IV it just shows a scrambled Nintendo logo. Does anyone know how I can patch the rom myself?

Man I'm surprised so many don't like the bare PCB idea. Seems like he really went the extra mile to make it unique, I'd imagine manufacturing is more expensive versus just buying the cheapie chinese shells.

Does anyone have any concrete evidence that the PCB is any worse than a normal cart shell? I don't own one. Do they break? Do they fall out? Is it hard to get it in? Just wondering why so many are against it.

"a transistor is a series of tubes"

Woah, nice work! I had the same idea but abandoned it because I have no idea how to make a cart edge connector in eagle. Is the one there a DMG port or GBC port? What's durability like, does the port seem like it might break off?

My only big hesitation is doing a DMG style connector provides no way to power the aboy without modifying a cable. The dual ended cables I have have th 5v line working but only on the GBC side.

Also I notice your open hardware logo. I just wanted to throw out that all the stuff I'm doing in relation to this is also open and available on github in my fork of your repo. Check it out here: https://github.com/catskull/Arduinoboy

EDIT: What does fritzing charge for a shield? Is it really 29 euro?

Interesting. The FAT documentation suggests that it's suitable to run on a micro, so I wonder what it'll sound like.

It should sound exactly the same as any other GBA since it uses the GBA sound and not the GB sound.

DMG ports are probably impossible. I'm pretty sure the only reason GBA ones are available is because of clones like the GB BOY and other SP style handhelds.

I feel like most cables around are the dual end style, so a GBC cable is totally acceptable for me. Does anyone else have an opinion on the matter?

I actually found a supplier of new GBC/GBA link ports! So it wouldn't increase costs much and you wouldn't have to butcher old boards!

Ah, nice! But I take that you've had no luck with DMG link ports? wink

Not wanting to fork out the dough for a rose colored gaming faceplate, I keep checking aliexpress for faceplates. It seems like someone is now producing some and they're available for relatively cheap (~$10). There's only black or silver I guess.

I received one in the mail not too long ago and the quality is decent. Definitely not OEM quality, but it's totally acceptable for me.

Just thought I'd post here in case anyone is in the same boat I was. smile

So I have the old clear EZFlashIV. I'm trying to run the rom on my cart but when I boot the game the nintendo logo is scrambled. I can't read french so the documentation isn't helping much. Anyone have any tips for me?
