Thanks for trying it out BlakePalmer.
For this inverted problem, the program doesn't automatically do any light to dark sorting so in some cases you might need to assign the colors manually. I think all you'd have to do is change the pulldowns next to each color so instead of color1, color2, color3, color4, you would do color4,color3,color2,color1.

I didn't really like the available tools out there so I made this for myself. Added a couple things and figured I'd share in case it could help someone out. Didn't do a whole lot of troubleshooting so hopefully not too buggy.
It's a windows application using .NET 2.0 framework.

Input files should be indexed bmp, gif or png with 4 colors or fewer, length and width divisible by 8.
Outputs assembly, gbdk or binary format.

Hi all,
Posted this on gbdev.gg8 and thought I might as well put it here to.
This is just a simple little tool I made for myself and thought I'd pass it along in case someone else could find it useful.

Re: Bud Melvin - new single (8 replies, posted in Releases)
Thanks -
I released an EP last year of cover songs made with lgpt and a few singles/remixes here and there over the past 2 years.
I'm planning on just releasing more songs individually online, and possibly in 2-song 7-inch vinyl combinations.

Topic: Selling LSDJMC2 and GBDSO (gameboy oscilloscope) (0 replies, posted in Trading Post)
Hey all,
Doing some cleaning up and I have some stuff, basically unused, that I just don't have a need for.
I have one of the first made firestARTer LSDJMC2 - yellow edition that I will sell for $120. I do not have a power supply, though. There is some difference between these and the newer, I believe, but I have no idea what it is.
Also, I bought one of these gameboy oscilloscopes years ago and just never got around to putting it in a casing and getting the cables for it. http://www.elektor.com/news/nintendo-ga 480.lynkx. I'll sell this for $150 which according to them is half price, if they're even selling them anymore.
Hope everyone is having fun these days.
- Bud

I don't really have time to make up a whole tutorial but I put up some example code for 360 unique tiles on gb classic (http://www.budmelvin.com/dev/gb/classic360.zip) and gb color (http://www.budmelvin.com/dev/gb/color360.zip).
For those having trouble with pcx2gb I would suggest trying it in dosbox.
SurfaceDragon you will be happy to see the zips include a rom file which should be extremely easy to edit with yy-chr, each tile is labeled with x and y coordinates. I haven't tested them on real hardware though, hopefully someone else with take the time to try that and let me know.

Chainsaw Police - If you were able to run PCX2GB as far as seeing an image on the screen, you have to hit Enter a few times to get it to do it's thing.
Timbob - Don't drive yourself crazy w/ 360 unique tiles. On the gameboy classic, there is only memory space to hold 256 - although there is a method of storing the extra 104 in a different memory area and using an interrupt to point to that other memory region when drawing the screen.
On gameboy color it's a little easier, there is a second memory area you can store the other 104 tiles and then there is a second 'map' that, instead of showing what tile goes in what screen location, it describes what palette and what memory bank to take the tile from.
I should have some time next week to maybe write out a tutorial about each method.

Apricorn, skip yy-chr. You should be 1337 and get GBDK working.
What exactly is the error you get when you try to compile?
