It has happened to me in the past, mine often corrupts the working memory if I mess with the half-clock switch too much. It's never corrupted saved memory before though, so I just make sure to save often.

If I'm not mistaken the Gameboy is entirely Additive synthesis not subtractive, you explained it as additive though, so maybe you just mistyped. Though the Synth screen portrays subtractive techniques (like filters) it really only uses the settings to draw a set of of wave forms which it then plays back. While every sound imaginable can be formed by manipulating endless sine waves, I don't believe that's how the gameboy functions.

I just mess with settings till it sounds good, if I get weird ones that I like a save it as a template for later.

If you look up tutorials you can find most of the parts at a radioshack or comparable store, so long as you have some soldering experience and a dremel.

My pocket does the same thing, I stay away from pockets.

Have fun with that, I've gotten decent at making words legible, but it takes pretty much forever, I'd never commit to doing anything a few minutes in length.

Who cares what you call it, go write some.
Music is music...
A rose by any other name...

Without 'R' pops a lot of my instruments wouldn't work, I've adapted it as a tool and use it to my advantage.

This is frickin' ridiculous! Amazing programming here, this is seriously making me want to get into NES programming. Nicely done.

Check out my save files for a few cool tricks, I tend to be fairly economical with my channels. You'll want to start doubling up your channel use, don't earmark each channel for a specific thing. I.E. don't have a channel set aside specifically for a kick drum, use one for both kick drum and bass (I recommend the WAV channel, but to each his own). Just keep writing, it'll come in time.

Ulitmately I feel a lot more comfortable working with 1 LSDJ, it's easier to keep track of and just runs smoother overall. I think if I did too much work in 2 LSDJ I'd probably oversaturate my music, but I'll admit it really is nice to have the extra room sometimes. Me and Danimal's album is all 2 x LSDJ and it's working very well because one of us will right the basis for the song on one LSDJ then the other fills in their own half of the goodness on a second.

I've always enjoyed working with limitations though too; here's my old proof of concept 1 x WAV CHANNEL ONLY jam from over a year ago.

Sales for this are going well, check out some youtube vids and give it a go yourself! smile

Pics?

Anyone played through this yet?
