You're wellcome. Anyways, follow your own instincts, maybe we said that because we've been expecting other thing instead, if something you make don't fit other people expectations, that doesn't mean it's bad.

Can I ask you to get a little bit of CC in my track? http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/11002 … y-pakzer0/

Thanks wink

This kinda reminds me trash80 stuff from his 8bp release. I like the lead a lot, some good middle fills, the production is clean and neat and it sounds good as it can be. I think that's the problem for me, sometimes it sounds too softy and too clean to be chipmusic.

I guess I like the harsh side of the chip, but great track. Thanks for sharing.

This question is not dumb at all. In fact I questioned this myself because I don't have this kind of problems with lgpt/lsdj because those have a live mode, also I do play guitar and sometimes sing along, so this can work with old style tracker songs.

But also the other idea I had to complement this (in tracks where there's only chiptune) and I made for my last hexawe release, is to break up the patterns in different samples, trigger them in the piggy and make some new patterns using piggy tricks like loop chopping and new instruments.

DefleMask is available for Mac, Windows and Linux too.

YESH!, added

- Schism Tracker
- Klystrack
- SunVox
- GB emulator + LSDJ / Carillon
- BITBIN - http://bit.s3m.us/
- LPGT
- GoatTracker
- Deflemask

Impulse/Schism tracker is totally a classic and runs fine in almost every computer made from late 90's and on. It would be my favourite if you want to do an old skool based tracker workpshop.

well, how the heck is anyone going to relate to that? It's just horrible to look at, it's horrible for me and I know what I'm doing with it.  Eugh.  At least with pc trackers related things are either on the same screen or can be split onto the same screen.  It's really difficult to associate one thing with another in this (and LSDJ's) interface, and it's the association between one part of a tracker and another that's really important for learning.   I know a lot of c64 trackers have the same problem too.

Sarcasm on:
You deserve nothing but pain and punishment for saying that. That's how trackers used to look! We like horribles interfaces don't you get it?
Sarcasm is never off

Good idea, I signed in, but I remember some previous effort on 8bc wiki and some map also.

Gotta heart LoveThroughCannibalism

I'll pay a listen to it once I got time for listening, but I'm keeping an eye open for this one. Good idea!

I translated this tutorial to spanish and added a few things for CulturaChip's wiki, properly attributted of course wink

And of course, thank you mate, this tuto was the perfect introduction for me to this tracker/chip, I thought it was good enough to be translated, so others can learn it too smile

This thread should has zillions of replies!

I'm still really new to these sounds but this is very cool!

As some fine fella told in his 1bit blog:

The demo includes tracks by 7 different authors, most of which have not been previously active in 1-bit music.

The most of us were noobs in the style, and the most of us were the 1st time using beepola, for a real release I guess. Thanks for the comment big_smile

YAY this is cool. I dig the lowres pic by Morgothic. Some interesting musix, too.

I think Morgothic did the best work in this compo, music and graphics. Besides the rest, including my work, is good, but his is magnific.

A Beepola compo held recently at CulturaChip boards, we also made a musictape/musicdisk with the help of mcleod_ideafix.

8 tracks and 5 fine speccy graphic art to make you drive insane.

Ok, so here's the latest collab I made so far, with this band called Rumbo, who are mainly composed by three guys: Sergio (voice and guitar), Jorge (voice and guitar) and Diego (percussion).

Somehow we reached the point in the conversation that this track is the mix of two genres that had never been mixed before (if it isn't that way, we don't know it yet =P), they had a little track floating there, where they want to mix it with electronic music and I took the job to do it, with LSDj, of course. They are from the same city that I am, and we have common friends, and we spent some time together the past summer, jamming and playing, so we were bounded to make this. Also because of this i'm going to be part of this band in a very soon as guitar/bass/keyboard player and chiptuner, of course wink

So check it out, fyi this specific subgenre of flamenco is called "BulerĂa", and of course is my favourite because of the broken measure and the minor harmonic and frigian escales.

im too old for that now, but i've always said im more than willing to help if someone else wants to take the initiative and really push again... often they get discouraged pretty quickly when most of the venues they contact don't even take the few seconds to respond and say "no" or are the kind of place that makes you front $200+ of your money to set something up (or take a huge portion of the door, maybe the first $400+).. we also have a shortage of viable all ages venues, which makes trying to get things going much harder, given the average age of listeners and artists... 21 and up shows exclude too many potential fans

The trick is to get other kinds of spaces from the traditional venue, so you can bypass the age limit and the money/venue problems. Familiar fest is done in a rehearsal room where bands can play with a crowd up to 30 persons smelling each other. We made Invasores in a squat house. Other people use the rave scene to promote themselves. There's always alternative spaces for atipical activities. Sevilla is a small city, trust me, just try to hack the whole thing using a different approach. But I understand that if you've been trying for years, you won't have the same energy now.

oh in chicago we tried for years...just have to admit it wasnt happening after a few too many single digit turnouts

Of course it couldn't work, but I guess is the best one can do for getting a scene ready. As I said, I'm doing workshops, even if in the firsts nobody shown up, but perseverance may be the way to achieve results.
