Agreed. The shows were about different things. The adult one was about Blip, the kids one was about what is chipmusic. There wasn't a requirement for technical language in the Blip show, especially when they had already done a "what is chip" segment a few years ago.

Kids are naturally curious though and want to understand things. I really like that they didn't dumb it down too much, and I think geeky kids watching good game would understand "chip" and "synthesizer" tongue

We can definitley help out with Melbourne hit me up on gba next time you're in there. We'd definitley get both of you on a SoundBytes bill and Abortifacient can probably help out with Sydney. Brisbane may be a little harder now we've stolen Dot.AY smile

Just have to restart the NZ thread wink Keep seeing people talking about $snoregazzzm in my facebook feed, a lot to do with Calh I guess smile

Oh there was CERTAINLY drunken hooliganism, but it was a short segment and mostly filmed on the Saturday during workshops and soundcheck - before people got drunk tongue

They did do a great job of making everyone not look too nerdy or making it too hard for laymen as well. Yay for good game

I have always said that antismoking laws are one of the deaths of live music - How many people went outside between sets at blip? There would be were a mass of people constricting the footpath (I think a lot of people walking past were more curious about what was happening inside because of it, but still) having a break means that happens between sets - and not during. No one wants to be that person that everyone uses as an excuse for a smoke break

There are chipshows happening in Adelaide, sadly they did not go with that amazing name!

I think we were worried when they were filming because of some of the questions, but it actually came together really, really well.

I think we will continue to make jokes about why we as gamers should care about chiptunes

They did a great job, as I have said multiple times very respectful, and they were LOVELY - The producer really got in their with her camera and stuff filming from right up in front of the stage. They appeared to love it

You learn as you go. Its one of those things though - can Melbourne really support mltiple regular chip shows? Maybe we're starting to get to the point where we can now, but it's hard to say

For everyone who's asked for shipping prices, it's close to  the same everywhere I've been asked for so far $25 - 30 Airmail or $15 - 20 seamail... if you can wait three months.

If you want one sent to Blip for you, you need to a) let me know what size and b) pay in advance.

TBH, we don't know yet. Might try and do something around Blip NY time. It'kll be announced here when we know, as well as facebook.com/soundbytesoz and twitter.com/soundbytesoz

I should say though, preliminary investigation shows that it doesn't get particularly cheap until theres at least ten hoodies in the order, and at ten it'll get down to about $15 shipping. far more expensive than I was expecting to be honest.

If we were to get a bunch of people who will be attending Blip wanting one, I'm pretty sure we can organise something. We can't make it out there this year, but can at least send some hoodies in our place.

(Basically probably wont send more than what people request though and price will vary depending on how many that is and whether someone from Melbourne is going or we have to do a bulk shipment)

Lin Jie said feel free to troll us?
She didnt say that to me, but I am clearly SRSBSNS

Nah I can do that. Stuff I have just in my house at this point includes dot.AY tees (limited sizes), blip Oz tees, Blip Oz stubby holders/coozies, SoundBytes black tees (limited sizes), Hunz cds (both of them).

Oh and Finger lazers

Theres also a chance that I may just send some hoodies to blip NY depending on whos going and interested in picking one up there

But why, should we - as gamers - be interested in this emerging scene?
