but if anyone is willing to stabilize my ego again with some biting criticism, go ahead! I'd appreciate that too.

Some of the synth patches sounded like your standard FM fare, but they were well covered under piles of other nicely synthesized bits (like the percussion) and an excellent mixing that makes each timbre shine really well without letting it be muddy.

Sorry, it's a bad situation to balance your ego xD

For me it would be a MIDI controller keyboard connected to a DAW or just doing stuff on a tracker.
For rhythm composing, a good step sequencer usually "jazzed up" thanks to human error entered in my Akai MPD24 drum pad controler.

This was helpful, I was banging my head against the wall the other day with a similar issue (trying to control a multitimbral VSTi).

I wish people here would stop cross-referencing to that site, to be honest hmm

Today, I (and everyone else) woke up to see the following message on the 8bitcollective front page:

Not me, you have no idea of how relieving is to have stopped visiting that place for good! smile

So technically, yes.

No, technically, no.
Aesthetically, maybe. And that maybe is only if you consider any tune with pure squarewaves to be cheaptoon. Which most people wouldn't.

The dial on the front is a pitch/speed tool, and the lever on the side will allow you to get a more accurate Pitch/Speed.

Yeah once you get used to it it should be cool, but t is rather unfriendly to begin with.
