Great post! However, the "father of all trackers" is always considered to be Chris Huelsbeck's editor for the C64. Soundtracker is teh one that started the Amiga, sample-based, Protracker craze.
how many "how do I run X on Y" 20 page threads have you had Akira?
Fair enough xD But those SAME problems would arise even with emulation. "How do I run the emulator, what is workbench, I got an ADF , what do I do with it" and more.
Using a real amiga is such a pain (both in transferring and then software compatiblity and so on)
Only if you got a shitty A500 or something like that! A1200s and A600s are easy to setup.
Personally, I love the AD/DA of the Amiga. If I had none, I might emulate, but I always made the little effort needed to always have an Amiga in my house.
This is really smooth to use, to be honest. I didn't like the GP2X port either but this one feels smoother. I still wouldn't compose a thing with it. It has the "jam" mode which is nice. I think this is made to PLAY with the modules rather than composing. You can make them at home with the computer and if you are so inclined, make some changes or dabble ideas on them while on the road.
