Go for it!

Any word on if this will fit into a GBP? If so, I'd be interested in having one, since my GBP has been out of commission for a while on account of my last backlight (the RGBva one) being too thick and so I took it all apart and put it in a box.

Awesome.

Oooooh, so pretty! *drooling* A few questions: Do the batteries work? Does this have PCMCIA slots? How much hard drive space does it have? Would you let just the laptop and PSU go by themselves? Would you be willing to wait until April 16th for payment?

The Cannoo is quite rad. Unfortunately the people issuing me with bills insist that they are far more rad than a Cannoo. hmm

Yeah, ESD is only going to be a big issue if you have sensitive components. Most of the time you can get away with an ungrounded iron, but some components are unusually sensitive. If you take the normal ESD precautions like the wrist strap etc. you'll likely be fine for most of the time.

Heh, NTGS 1.0. It's kinda useful, but you need to have a way to import samples and stuff. The newer versions of NTGS are very similar to old version of Protracker, but are very hard to find. I should get someone to host my disk images of those.

EDIT: the NTGS 1.0 disks have some sample songs I think, and of course other song/sample compilation disks also exist. I meant to write up some information on using NTGS almost a year ago now, as I took the time to figure out how to use it. Feel free to ask questions here in the thread and I can try to answer them.

Oooooooh libretto... so cool looking...

Too bad I has no monies right now. I would love to own a Libretto finally. smile

Wow, looks like I downloaded it before pause went AWOL today. Good stuff, I'm just listening to it now, I enjoy it quite a bit. And BTW, the text-to-speech kinda works for me in some places, you should look into improving your technique in that area, it shows some promise.

Snow. Oh yez. I would consider something else if there were more options. Also, if I had a decent monitor and my eyes weren't so bad I might consider trashbaby, but it's just really hard for me to focus on.

You need some BRKBRKBRK pants. smile

Lets see, who to challenge next...

iLKke: You shall make a pixel art packaging label for an imaginary brand of old-timey hard candies. Preferably root beer or lemon flavored, but you can choose different if you want. No size or color restrictions, and you can do front and back of the package, or just front. Or just back, but that'd be boring. smile

if you really really need this blown up to 26800x26800 pixels then I'll happily oblige, but I figure more people will be able to actually view the image at this size... smile

EDIT: nevermind.

Okay, challenge has begun. I will attempt a 67 x 67 5 color cupcake.

I have not used Dumpgfx before, but as I understand it, your specific ROM image could be at issue. Arcade-based ROMs have been largely standardized by MAME, but the standards have changed a good deal over the years now. I have been using MAME and other arcade emulators for almost 12 years now, and I know what a pain it can be to deal with ROM revisioning. You need to confirm what standard dumpgfx expects the ROM to be in, be it pre-.36final, some later MAME iteration, or perhaps even Neorage format. There might be some utilities out there which can help you update your ROM-file naming conventions and headers.

Other than that, any errors or program output you can find would probably be helpful, even though I have not used dumpgfx.
