SWEET TIMES!

I think the online chipTUNE community got rather boring once everyone divided off into 2 communities. Everyone's still super fun and awesome in real life. But this is getting ridiculous. There's a lot of forced elitism going on right now. I meen... this new site Noisechannel.org? Mb they are just trying to revive some of the fun they feel might have been lost... over the past 2 years. Idk man... d00d I don't even know. : ]

i just do covers to keep my music muscles sharp. covering a bunch of songs from one artist can give you insight into their writing methods and give you a new perspective on writing.

True, I gotta do this more.

I tend to use humor in my music when I got teh block.

Oh, in that case it's a totally different story. I got confused when I read the article. I think the examples where they degraded the pixels on it confused me haha.

Man....I mean, you can't just use a pixel effect on something in Photoshop and then call it original. But at the same time it's like... not even a warning to take it down? Just straight "We are suing you and you are fucked". That's pretty harsh and scary.

I like this idea, 12 hours EP. I might try it some time.

it's a really fun time. You also feel really good after. It's like a workout for the musical part of your brain.

I've been really into 12 hour releases if you'd like to collab at some point. What about making one where you just use the time you finished each track... original I know.  Also what about using the Chinese zodiac animals for times of the day corresponding with the time you finished the track.

23:00 – 01:00: 子 Rat
01:00 – 03:00: 丑 Ox
03:00 – 05:00: 寅 Tiger
05:00 – 07:00: 卯 Rabbit
07:00 – 09:00: 辰 Dragon
09:00 – 11:00: 巳 Snake
11:00 – 13:00: 午 Horse
13:00 – 15:00: 未 Sheep
15:00 – 17:00: 申 Monkey
17:00 – 19:00: 酉 Rooster
19:00 – 21:00: 戌 Dog
21:00 – 23:00: 亥 Pig

yah.

edit: What about an album that is one song... but it slowly changes as a day progresses. Like the mood etc. I was toying with the idea of making a 24 Hour wave file... That's kinda ridiculous though. Mb a song thats 24 mins long and every minute is an hour of the day.

For a 12 hour album.. hmmm. Well first, for me anyways. I waited for one of those days where I basically felt like vomiting inspiration and ideas. The next step is to fully commit mentally. After that prepare to drink coffee heavily... for 12 hours. Then I just go... don't even stop to think about what I'm putting down. It helps when using a medium you know inside out, cuz then you can just naturally write fast.

There was a point where I had to cope with motivation loss. But being so high from caffeine and fatigued (this was at like 8 in the morning)... I felt like spiritually charged and very emotional. So it just fueled the remaining hours. It's a great experience.

Edit: It was less about writing a quality collection of material and more about documenting the brain processes I was having within those 12 hours. It's kind of like being a painter or illustrator and doing moving sketches of people in a public place... if that makes sense.

This is rad.

Sometimes I ponder starting a kick starter just to fund my cigarette habit. Kick Starter - give misfit cancer by 40.

But seriously dude, good luck with the NIN album. Sounds awesome.
