This is an awesome release. Downloaded. I'd like to see what you can do with just 1 LSDJ. Keep up the awesome jams, man! smile

Okay so it looks like I've found the only solution that works for people in my case. I went ahead and downloaded a modified version of the files found in this other topic: http://hkems.proboards.com/index.cgi?ac … amp;page=1

Installed them and worked like a charm. So if anyone else has been encountering my problem, I suggest giving those files a try!

Did you have to do anything else?

I had GB_USB working before, but now I had to do a system back up, and it won't work. I don't remember how I got it to work back in the day but I've been working on this all day and now it's really frustrating. I cannot here's what I've done so far.

Run Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider:

Enable "Test Mode"
Sign a system file: C:\Users\stevens\Desktop\Backup\LSDJ\GB_USB\EMSLink_amd64.sys
Sign a system file: C:\Users\stevens\Desktop\Backup\LSDJ\GB_USB\EMSLink_ia64.sys

Exit program
Reboot computer.
Start GB_USB
Plug in USB cart

The USB port tries to install the driver, then this message comes up:

Device driver software was not successfully installed.

Also, the "Found new Hardware wizard" will not pop up.....

And I finally got it to work before posting this. Maybe I'm a tard, but this might be helpful to people in the future.
I opened up the device manager. Previously in the day I was trying to install the driver in the "Transfer Cable Devices" and "Universal Serial Bus Controllers", then finally when I was about to rip my head off, I saw Other devices, opened it up and added the driver manually by linking to the folder where GB_USB was. The computer found and successfully installed the driver. Now I'm back to backin' up. Yay

What a bung hole. But seriously, guys. Never deliver a finished product without receiving payment first!

all of the above

http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/7507/ … rawrawraw/

Buskerdroid is an amazing electro artist from Rome. He does some really sick stuff with sh synths, and him and Microman just came out with an all LSDJ ep. I'd like to see a write up if you get around to it! These guys deserve some hype.

I like to use the 909 snare at times. Stacking it with a noise snare. But if I'm using the wav channel for kicks, then I like to make a snare with a table to make it more snappy/punchy. Here's a kick I just made after reading your post. It's not the best example, but:

BPM: 128

Instrument: Noise
Note: C3

Envelope: B1
Shape: C3

Table:
tsp
00
FE
03
04
2B
H04 (H command making it hop back to 04)

Another common snare I like is

inst: noise
Note: C3

envelope A1
Shape EE

Table:

00
02
ff
00
00
00
00
etc

messing around with the values in the table and the shape in the instrument.

anyhow, nice stuff. smile

Here's another idea. Don't upload or release any new ep's or tracks for like 3 months, longer if you can. Keep working on getting more technical with LSDJ (if that's what you're going to use). I love chiptune, but I don't listen to a lot of LSDJ chip stuff regularly. But there are a few releases I come back to over and over. I listen because the synthesis is interesting, the sounds captivate me, the composition is awesome, and the channel economy blows my mind.

Lo-Bat - Gameboy
USK - Picopicodisco
Knife City - Knife city
AMU - Set Diamond
Ctrix live RRR

to name a few. Listen to these.

You're gonna be great if you keep working and working, man. Keep it up. I like 1/2 of the screams, if it didn't have the really high piched squeeling/shrieking it would sound great. Keep working.
