Its quite funny to watch them cover as it is obviously something they aren't entirely informed on.

If yo dont already know Sonic State is an excellent source for music industry related news in particular to the electronic music world and have been around for a long time. All the members in the discussion have strong ties to the music world.

I believe what you are describing is a well documented SID chip flaw. The chip was rushed during its later days of development and some issues were left over as a result.

One of these issues was that the Sid chip having after played a note never had actual zero point in its amp envelopes resulting in the notes never fully turning off once a sound had been played.

I just found this sonic state review funny look at the early days of Nanoloop. The author is Mark Tinley who for many was the synth sound guy for Duran Druan. Further more he also was an acid house head and played on a Peel session. He still does some podcast for sonic state and is an interesting guy along with the rest of the lot that surrounds that site. it is an funny read for the old boys if you havent seen it already. enjoy!

doods. Really? not gonna rep classic chip bros?

Love you all.

I started doing chip back in 2006. I am not as involved in authentic chipmusic as I used to be for my personal music but it is something that still influences my work. I am not sure I will ever do it as seriously  as I used to but the influence will probably always be there. I have gone from the 8-bit sound obsessions (GB/NES/C64), to the 16-bit FM (Sega genesis/OPL3), and finally sample based chip (XM/Mods). For me the natural progression was to keep moving forward and not be limited by the restrictions of pure chip. We will see how things will play out but for now it is still a valid part of my work.

I believe nullsleep and star pause did a split a bit back.

Yeah chipsounds is kinda wierd like that. what you have to do is after putting chipsounds into your track you go down to the rack where you will see the chipsound vst square. Left of the bypass button there will be a triangle button. click it and it will unfold revealing an option to configure. Click that button and then head over to your opened vst window. move the parameters that you want to automate and it will add a slider to the bottom rack cell for that parameter. click configure again when you are done. from there you should be able to automate things via your standard clip midi window.

I was working on some FM programming today for my genmdm. I NEEED A MAC VERSION ALY! Save me!
