Thank you Peter for once again being the voice of rational, considered reflection on an issue with much history and many past debates.

Further to that, I'd like to add for anyone who wants a curated list of chipmusic that people in "the know" consider worth your attention, just go to the dozen or so awesome exclusively chipmusic record labels. That's kinda their thing.

Got a PM from a member who wanted to contribute to this thread. Had a good enough reason that this thread deserved to stand on it's own, so it's been re-opened.

Renamed to the "Customized gear thread" (just so we don't see heaps of threads each dedicated to a single console).

So show off your customized handhelds, consoles, drum machines, whatever!

Just as an update, I emailed x|k a few months ago and after almost 3 years I received it about a month after he renewed his commitment to said. Whilst obviously this is far from ideal (he had made several similar commitments in the past to ship it) it might be some small hope for those who have yet to receive their orders. I'd email Chris again now and see what he says.

Got a gig on. Going to chill out with most of the Aus crew who are in town for the gig and listen to the stream tomorrow morning. Should be a good weekend!
