I'd first try older version of mGB if it worked before.

Re: Arduinoboy Parts list / power source ... (24 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
ok, do this:
1) find LEDs you like
2) find their voltage (for example 2V) and their current (like 30 mA)
3) open the link I posted
4) fill in the red (5V), green (LED voltage) and blue (LED current)
5) Click "Click to calculate"
6) read the "Calculated Limiting Resistor" (Yellow)
7) write it down
Now you have the resistor value. You buy these resistors and add 1 before every LED.
...but I guess you are just trolling me anyway.

Re: How many people have bleepbloop/smartboy carts and no programmer? (23 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
I've got a Smartboy cart, but I also have a Smartboy programmer, which I'm scared to use.
^ This. I got all my work wiped once and I've not been using the programmer ever since. I backup my savs with USB EMS + MMC.
I'm about to update LSDJ so I hope it's gonna work...

There are no built in resistors - you have to add them like in trash80's schematics. Use this to calculate the resistor value.

Re: Arduinoboy Parts list / power source ... (24 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
That's what the resistors are for. But you can use 5V without resistors. Just buy some leds and try it - costs few cents. I'm not answering no more questions about leds - you can easily find all info you need online. Do that next time please.

For the 1000th time: not the cartridge battery. Pocket's AAAs are just too weak and the cartridge needs more juicy juice.
Try wall adapter and you'll see.

Dude, Nitro is hella cool. Visit his website... you'll learn things.
Thanks, I hope I'll manage to google it somehow...

Yeah right, I think nitro should just shut up. You can build it smaller anyway.

also: this is the smallest buck converter I found on ebay (20 x 20 x 5mm)

Id also be happy with finding a confirmed recharble battery set that you could perma install and instal a port it could charge from..maybe even the port already in the dmg.
Gameboy pocket with mini usb (for charging only). It has a li-po battery similar to this one (600mAh) and this lipo charger (cut down in half). You can also get the charger at sparkfun.
I have yet to put the battery life in a serious test but it seem really good (at least compared to the crappy AAAs I've been using before). I can also use my USB EMS with no problems.

I’ll have to investigate that further, but my preliminary conclusion is that you can feed the Gameboy with a 9V battery without problems.

Get some around 3V for the mentioned resistors.

I mean any arduino. You just have to connect everything to the right pins.

Re: Arduinoboy Parts list / power source ... (24 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
- It is safer to use 1 resistor for each led since there are multiple leds lit in the midi-out mode.
- You can use any arduino.
- You can use arduinoboy with any syncable LSDJ version but I think you need special version for the midi-out mode (lsdj4_1_0-arduinoboy).
- Don't know what to add about the power supply.
