Guess what finally showed up today?
So that's one west coast US arrival. Anyone else in the US get theirs yet?

I'd bet if you started with a new teensy with no header pins on it and built it to the MIDI board with ribbon cable (if you even wanted 5pin DIN) you could fit it. There's a lot of room in there, but that room is mostly pretty flat. That dome on the model 1 is just empty space though.
You can try to solder to the underside of the board, directly to the pin 5 I was thinking?
Yeah that's what I was thinking, I was more wondering if anyone knew of a 5v supply from within the console, then I realized there's one at the a/v connector, so maybe I'll give that a shot today.

Use pin 9 on the 9 pin controller port connection on the teensy. ??
Wait, what? Are you saying there's already a 5v source at the controller port? My pinout shows pin 5 as unused by the genMDM board, am I crazy?
What the fuck? Weirdest double post ever.

Was this hard to do? Tutorial seems pretty step-by-step.
Not hard at all! I soldered it onto a breadboard layout proto board after (with sockets, etc of course). I will say that soldering the shitty wires in the Genesis controller I tore apart was a pain in the butt (the wire is designed for CRIMPING, not soldering), but worth it. I'm enclosing it today and it will be very mobile.
If Seb doesn't mind, I can share the pinout I reverse engineered f you want to take that route.
double post
That sounds fun. If people think we look silly working on a native Game Boy tracker though, they're in for a treat.
Just sequencing presets, but it works! Gonna try to squeeze some actual music into this thing whenever the little one takes a nap today...
