You should go ahead and say it was MY post (not posts) that you are referring to. Better, you know? smile

My opinion is exactly that of Bit Shifter on the matter, and my post wasn't negative (neither was his), you probably ignored the part where i said I think you are all brilliant for coming up with stuff like that.

Or perhaps you ignored the part where I said "this thread wasn't really out of line"?

For the record, I wasn't referring to your posts.

But yeah, this thread wasn't really out of line, I've seen worse. If it's constructive, I don't really see anything wrong with people expressing their opinion. But some negativity I've seen can be unnecessary and redundant.

I too have gotten my share of those 'just make music' kind of remarks, but I find this stuff more satisfying. Even just cosmetic mods like this can be very rewarding.  I don't see the point in trying to discourage people from doing this kind of stuff.

You know what, I'll be completely up-front about the high-dollar items and say right off the bat they're a bit absurd. Not that I don't plan follow through with it or anything.... but I could just simply "not offer" those things and people would still pledge more (I have existing higher-dollar pledges where people chose not to receive rewards at all), so I figured I might as well offer something.... and besides, people have obviously already asked to receive them, so they must have some worth.

Might as well do a Nice Thing(tm) and offer people something more, you know?

No worries, I was just teasing. wink

Good luck with the project.

Looks very nice. I hope there's some interest in these.

isn't this a bit ridiculous?

if you want to make a NIN chip album, then go for it. why ask people for handouts for doing something that most others would do in their spare time anyway and distribute for free?

I don't think it's so much asking for hand-outs as it is making the option for a pre-order.

I'm kind of with you on the free distribution thing though. Only because it's cover songs. I think original music should be sold, covers should be a free release. But since this actual merchandise here, I don't see a serious problem.

I'm indifferent. Charging $25.00 for a 4 minute skype call on the other hand...

I think it's awesome. Just outrageously priced, and I really don't believe the thing about 300+ hours.

Would be cooler if it was universal and not hardwired in. That could get tricky, though.

I haven't found any schematics for the GBA, and the inverted silkscreening makes it really hard to follow the traces...

You're willing to trade LSDj for LSDj and pay the difference?

hope this helps...

It won't harm anything if you turn it on while it's hot. You can even do this while the unit is running, which is actually how you should do it to avoid over heating the ribbon cable. Doing this is actually more likely to wreck your DMG because that ribbon cable can only handle so much removing/reinserting.

I found that actually adding solder helps incredibly. Remove all the adhesive so you don't gunk up the tip though. But once you add solder, the heat is distributed more evenly, and I find I can always repair dead vertical lines if I use this method. The solder won't adhere to the cable, so it can be easily removed afterward.

Nice! An old English font would be really cool, but if it's too difficult, that one will be great. Thanks!
