But do they only have three functioning lines of pixels each and no working audio output, and are they sticky?

Before: Broken Nintendo GameBoy for 99 cents on eBay with free shipping.
Heavily corroded battery compartment, heavy scratches, broken dpad and A/B buttons, glitchy audio output, missing screen cover, and a nearly ruined LCD due to what I believe was an awful attempt to fix some dead pixel columns with a soldering iron.

After: Fully working Rhett & Link-styled “MythicalBoy”.
Clean, new transparent blue buttons, new battery contacts, new front PCB, custom paint job, white v4(!) uni-directional ASM backlight, and a new transparent screen cover.

Dude, I sent you a message on Facebook back in January offering $50 for those, what the heck.
I'd still want 'em but I'm short on cash and I don't get paid until the 15th. hmm

Oh yeah, I bought two of the Cheap Dinosaurs album. Gave one to a friend, haven't planted mine yet.
I should probably do that soon.
IIRC they're supposed to be lobelias or something.

^I'm not really sure what it's all worth individually or as a lot, if you're still interested, feel free to PM me an offer and we can discuss it.
Updated a few things in the OP.
I've been super busy getting ready for the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention, and hours at my job have been increasing more and more lately, so I haven't been around to update this thread as much as I'd like to, but I'll be adding more Monday night.

You're a noob/idiot/dickhead and we all hate you.
Noseriously, welcome to the forums, man.
There are a few members who tend to stand out as being elitist jerks, but a lot of us are just here for the music, fun, lolz, etc.
Most of the time what people see as hatred is a joke, anyway. Sarcasm/satire/inside jokes and the like.
While we could stand to improve our manners a bit, I believe that because most of the community is made up of people in their early 20s and up, the consensus is somewhere along the lines of "we're all mature adults and we can do whatever the hell we want to so either stfu or gtfo gosh mom I'm like 21 I can do what I want."
You kinda learn to either tolerate it or just tune it all out after a while.

After doing a little research on them, it seems that they are half-legit.
You will get the item you ordered, but you can probably expect it to be a previously-owned refurbished item, even though they list it as new.
And from what I'm seeing shipping takes a pretty long time.

Ah, okay. Neat.
I looked around the site right after I'd posted that and got that you could map out the controls to a midi keyboard and the like, but I was wondering if it would've had any other uses. This is good to know. I may try to use it for future experiments.

Hell if you're patient enough you could compose a song that plays New Super Mario Bros from start to finish

I'm pretty sure I have to do this now. I love messing around and doing crazy crap like this.
I remember a couple years ago my brother and I tried to play through Sonic Adventure 2 Battle with a DDR pad. It was great.

Scream.
Just as the last beat of your first song ends, grab the microphone, shove it as far as you can into your mouth, and unleash the loudest, most blood-curdling scream you can muster, and hold it. Keep it going for as long as it takes you to load a new song on your single LSDJ cart in your single A/C adapter-powered Gameboy Pocket with a single working output channel (the left one, specifically) and stop the scream right as you start the second song.
Rinse/repeat/reduce/reuse/recycle/shake well/buy often.

...noseriouslythough just use two gameboys and fade out/in each time you start a new song.
If you don't have a second gameboy, but do have a newer Nintendo handheld, I suggest using one for small backing loops (or to write whole new songs) inbetween LSDJ loading times. There are plenty of cheap options. KORG DS-10 (or DS-10+) or Jam Sessions for DS, Electroplankton (the original DS card or the downloadable ones for DSi/3DS), or anything out of the Rytmik series of trackers for 3DS. If you're either rich or into piracy, I strongly suggest checking out KORG-M01 for the DS. It's freakin' amazing.

I'm very confused as to what this Midify thing does.
It turns your DS into a midi synth, or is it just the jack and you need a midi-compatible program?
If the latter, what other programs are out there that let you do that?

Dang, I wish it was this easy to set up shows in middle TN.

Use the gameboy as a controller to move around in an emulator : )

Then yeah, you can't do it with a gameboy, but you can do it with a NES or SNES controller, which IMO is close enough.
I used to do that, but my current computer has bluetooth built in so now I use my Wiimote/classic controller.

Well my initial thought was to find a "USB Gameboy Controller", but not to my surprise there were none (basically, the bottom half of the Gameboy would be used as a controller).

I'm not entirely sure what you meant by this.
Use it as a midi controller, or as a game controller?
Either way, while not specifically Gameboy, are plenty of USB adapters for various retro console controllers for use as game controllers, which you could then use as a game controller when emulating LSDJ (I'm really not sure if that's what you wanted or not), OR you could sort of almost use it as a midi controller by using GlovePIE or a similar program to remap the buttons on the controller to act as input from your keyboard or mouse.
From there you can just open up the keyboard interface in whatever DAW you use, and use the controller to play music.

Not that you'd care any more at this point, but I figured I'd mention it.

Been replying to all PMs.
Sold a lot of stuff today, updated the first post.
I've still gotta put up my GB/CGB/GBA stuff and all my Sega stuff at some point but I haven't had the chance to yet.
Will do soon.
Meanwhile, would anyone be interested in any of this stuff?

Shoot me a PM.
