DJ mixers are small, portable and you can use it on live stage for DJing... That is the only reason.
You can use software mixers or studio mixers for serious studio mastering... It only depends how much money you want
spend into your studio equipment.

I am happy with my DJ mixer and build in mixers in this software I use -> REAPER (DAW) / RENOISE  (TRACKER)

BTW - You use Gameboys??? Or PC chiptrackers??? Or?

Put here all your DefleMask skins...
Here is tutorial (DefleMask Main->Skins):

"DefleMask was coded keeping in mind that every user has different visual preferences, so it is possible to customize the color scheme and the textures inside the Tracker.


In order to do this you have to follow 6 easy steps:

1. Enter to skins folder.

2. Copy "default" folder.

3. Rename your copy.

4. Edit the textures (you can change its resolution, but will be stretched by the tracker).

5. Edit colors.ini changing the RGB values of the colors.

6. If you want too, you can change the font.fdm file using DefleMask Font Converter on Data folder."

Yes it is very very nice soundchip...
Please include 2x SAA for 12 channels (2 x stereo = quatro).
It is SoundBlaster1 standard. And I want to do simple USB SAA (ATMEL USB + 2 x SAA) card with friends...
Or we can use 2 x Little Scale´s SAA MIDI Board (on one PCB) and you will buy MIDI cables and soundcard which got more MIDIs.

I love MODs. And on AMIGA1200 or ATARI FALCON they sounds great. And you can replay them with GBA on stage...
I was growing on 386 and Fastracker and SoundBlasterPro. So sorry for my opinions. Simply I can not say nothing bad on MODs but
I prefer and loves XMs since 1995... smile
But I heard ATARI STE or AMIGA 500/600 live back in 90s.
And I must say, you are right it was really best MOD listening I ever hear in my life...
Better than on SoundBlaster or on GBA, PDAs, PCs...

Hmm I have no idea when you want use MOD. There is Milky for AMIGA (A1200/A4000) too...
But I think you want to do MODs on A500.

I know smile. Just nice song by I found on 8BC.
Hmm I was doing SINEWAVE/BASS with LOOP in Fasttracker and ultra-short sample.
And OCTAVE down. It can generate clean sound. Just play with LOOP parameters.
Use MILKY or RENOISE another tracker with LOOP...
