Now that I have some free time I banged out a good portion of it...I want this competition thing to get a good start so I'll be trying my damnedest to get it up there.

And for the record...I think dubstep gets too much of an unfair rap.  I mean...If a dubstep song has some cool and unique ideas it in...shits awesome.  The problem lies in the cookie cutter dubstep songs...

Re-Start the Patch Cookbook on this?

I couldn't agree with this more If I tried.

Holy dick I like this.  I can't even think of anything to contribute other than that.

0 entries so far? Come on, guys. hmm

Don't get discouraged if this first round doesn't get many entries.  If the people who are into it remain diligent it'll pick up steam after a while.  Plus there's still 4 days left and I'm sure those who will enter will do so within the last hour or something haha.

Gah! Let's hope I can finish what I'm working on by the deadline.  College professors should know some students have chipmusic competitions to enter...  tongue

I remember having the hardest time with that freaking game when I was a kid, but that music from the first level made me not really mind that I was getting rip-shit-rioted by 8 crocodiles and a guy in a pink jumpsuit.

Did you try using eq roll off of all the higher frequencies before importing?

Yeah I experimented with that as well with no luck.  Any specific numbers I should try possibly?
Thanks.

I've got another question.

Kits in LSDJ.  I download a premade kit and flash and all that and it works.  When making my own though...sounds like shit.  I've messed with all kinds of things (exporting in 16bit, gain, volume, etc.) in Audacity for about a month now and have seen no progress to speak of.  Any help or suggestions would be great.  I'm trying to broaden my skills and this is definitely a limiter.
Thanks, fellas!

What the hell.  I'm almost disappointed that the smurfs don't have the worst game music ever.  But man, youre right...the latter half is really fucking groovy.

Let me rephrase that...Pwntendo and some videos (youtube) of We Are High Speed and Level One: Where Am I got me into it.  A friend of mine LOVES your stuff so I heard it quite often.  If I'm to pass the word onto others that are newly interested in chipmusic I usually suggest Venetian Snares or you since that's what did it for me.

PS: This thread is straight up slammin'

I'm fairly new to LSDJ and making chipmusic as well (6 months).  Let me know if you want some tips, advice, or just general learnin'.  I know when I first started with LSDJ I had a bunch of questions but just kinda kept to myself (for better of for worse).  I just know it's nice to hear someones willing to help so don't hesitate to PM me with anything!
