I know we had a thread like this a while back on 8bc, but it died fairly soon because somebody dropped the ball.

Here's my proposed reorganization for the rules:

1. The challenge passes from the last person who made a picture to the next person. IE, if you were the last person to complete a challenge you get to pick the next person/topic/restrictions.
2. You must pick from someone who has expressed interest in being picked. Preferably in the order requested in this thread.
3. Upon completing the challenge, post the picture here.
4. You have 48 hours from when you see you've been challenged to get it done.
5. When you challenge someone, you MUST put out a public post here, as well as a PM just in case he doesn't see this thread.
6. If the person being challenged takes more than 24 hours to acknowledge that he's seen the challenge, the challenger can pick another and/or change the type of challenge.

NEW RULE: You can't get picked to do another challenge unless there is nobody waiting to do one.

Current challenger: Russolo
Challenge: Pixel a 320x200 size image of whatever you want, in 1 bit color. You get to pick your two colors you want to use, but it's 1 bit, so one color is "on" and the other one is "off."

Cool, glad this is happening!  Do you have plans to host the results somewhere?  I'd suggest downloading all of them yourself and then linking to Photobucket.com or whatever in the first post along with the text of the challenge like I did on 8bc.  That way nothing gets lost. smile

I'd prefer not to go over $30 on this if that's possible.

Then you wouldn't want my pocket mixer i'm designing.

teehee

Your best bet would be to purchase one of those nuby speaker systems that plug onto the bottom of the dmg, then mod it to have a headphone output (just run the headphone output in parallel w/ the internal speakers of the nuby. Should be more than powerful enough to drive a 300ohm load.
Just watch your ears!

That's an interesting idea!  I've already got a couple of those mp3 player cases with the powered speakers built in.  I'll sacrifice one in the name of science.  smile

EDIT:  ...and I AM interested in your mixer design, I'd just like to get more use out of my AKGs right now

I've got an older pair of excellent headphones that I use with my mixer but they're 300ohms so almost nothing else I have can drive them.  I've been looking around at portable (battery powered) headphone amps but the prices and reviews are all over the place.  Anybody have recommendations or experience to help me find a solution?  Thanks!

These are all over eBay and is what I'll probably go with if nobody has an opinion:  http://head-direct.com/product_detail.php?p=36

I'd prefer not to go over $30 on this if that's possible.

Just ordered an EZ-Flash IV from here (several other options as well):  http://www.realhotstuff.com/ezflash-size-p-294.html  Finally! smile

My other hobby is checking in on 2 consignment, 2 charity, and 3 Good Will stores on my way home from work about once a week.  Sell the cool stuff you find and don't want and use that money to buy other cool stuff.  Repeat.  smile  I like that my interests pay for themselves.

Wowza!  Wonderful and clearly presented info, thanks!

I couldn't even READ that shit.

So, what you say, is that I can get that 9 buck cart, then flash it from within the NDS? That would be awesome because I Would still use it in my GBA if I wished so. and 9 bucks is a steal

I do believe that is the case.  I don't have "proof" for that specific cart yet.  I'll let you know if I find something more definitive. smile

Also, sorry to yuh for clogging up this Wanted thread with speculation!

Sounds like they're talking about the same cart, akira.  Maybe a slightly less crappy solution?

load the program, file a rom, press A to write it, and A again to confirm.
if you want up to 4 games, write the szcard-menu.gba first, followed by up to 4 roms (as long as they all fit within 16MiB)

the menu will find the first 4 games by looking for the nintendo logo (required in a gba header)
each game gets 64kB page of SRAM.

All it basicly is, is a modified version of gbaldr, an app for the ds that will let you flash gba carts in slot 2.

Edit: Yeah i just realised I should say this does require a ds or ds lite and a ds flash cart. But its what i used and it worked better then any computer software I could find.

It's worth mentioning that this is running fine in GPSP emulator (for those that have a PSP but no GBA or DS etc).

Love the collapsing/expanding track columns.  As usual, the excitement grows!
