Certain details match up perfectly, which is what leads me to believe that he drew the cover over the original. Look how the lighter skin tones match up almost perfectly in the two images. Same with reflections on the trumpet shades on Miles' jacket. What does not match up perfectly, obviously, is the pattern on the tie. smile

err, you mean it's kinda like throwing shitty vocals or raps on other people's chiptunes? ;P

It breaks my heart that a project I did for fun, on the side, and out of pure love and dedication to the source material ended up costing me so much - emotionally and financially.

that, of course, is a very valid point. also i don't believe it's right to squeeze 40.000 bucks out of someone for a piece of derivative art. but at the moment, these are the rules, and at least the same rules should apply to everyone.

my thoughts on this: it's of course wonderful to have all these IT/XM2something converters. on the other hand i'm getting increasingly weary of them, because they are generally too cumbersome to use. if i have to compile the whole piece 50 times just to get rid of a little detuning or timbre problem, i'm not going to get very far with the music, as i constantly have to fight with the limitations of the converter rather than focusing on the limitations of the actual soundchip. so please, dear developers: we need more proper trackers!

EPIC!!!! it sounds just like true electronica from the good old times!

A new album by MISTER BEEP has appeared on Coucou Netlabel!

from the info file:

Hi there. After my previous minimal chiptune album - 2 channels only - I decided to make on my ZX Spectrum 48Kb something as developed as possible with the machine. I must admit I'm pretty proud to give you my the newest album containing 10 multichannel 1-bit chiptunes, having from 5 to 9 channels.
Original idea was to make 6-channels chiptunes playing from 2 synchronized Spectrums (3 channels from each ZX, using Special FX engine).
I managed to make 4 such songs but meanwhile it appeared that Shiru programmed several totally new BEEPER engines: they were highly powerful and capable of playing even NINE channels from a single ZX Spectrum 48K.

Therefore finally you can find here:
- 4 stereo songs made on two synchronized Spectrums (Special FX engine, 2 x 3 channels)
- 5 mono songs coming from a single Spectrum (Octode engine; 9 channels)
- 1 mono song coming from a single Spectrum (QChan engine, 5 channels).

Like I used to say, mostly I don't make actual chiptunes - I just make music on a soundchip. smile
Hence, generally this album is in art-rock style (called 'progressive rock' sometimes), because the most well-known gamesongs from 80s from Spectrum48 were kept in this genre, and they have been written mostly by Tim Follin.
Anyways. Because of that, I would like to dedicate my album to Tim Follin, as he was the best 1-bit musician on ZX Spectrum 48K in 80s.

can't be done in music mon, as there are no pattern effects. i'm afraid you'll have to work with short patterns instead.

yeah cm people get your asses over to slovakia because this is a really special party! not only because of ay riders but also because of forever8bit in general.

@yerz hehe yes, i've seen it - again it is going to be a great year for 1bit music big_smile

@skull  if you want a large variety of br00tal kickz that take up only one channel you should get an atari st. trust me.

@je mapelle that's not really necessary - if the sine is too quiet then just lower the volume of your other instruments wink
