It is good, I recommend it.

A personal example, I recently wrote a track called 'OutBrk' which used a couple of leads based on radix's 'imaginary friend', if I had literally copied every single bassline, chord, lead and drum pattern from that track in a section, that would be plagiarism. As it was the track is at a different bpm, groove, and the lead is surrounded by completely different notes. Someone could say 'hey that sounds kinda like...' but not 'whoa that's totally ripping off xxxx'.

If you had taken the whole melody, or even just several phrases from the melody, then no matter what the bpm, 'groove', or whatever else was, I'd think "whoa, that's totally ripping off Radix".

Imaginary Friend isn't a very well-known folk song though, and Radix is still alive, so it's pretty different.

The CRT surely helped wipe the disks, specially if they are old.
i'll try to get the network going fast. Hey, it beats a creep trying to charge you for copying you some disks in these very forums. And they call me a dick :S

I saw the thread too, I was about to start a similar thread offering A500 disks for free, but I put in Hombre to test, and unfortunately it was gone (along with all my others except Protracker and one floppy of mods).

Hopefully no one can charge for it soon enough - who would pay for something like that if they can easily (and legally) have it for free? smile

By the way, the Amiga part of the disk network has already begun planning:

Great news, especially after I just found today that all my disks were mysteriously wiped (storing them next to a CRT monitor might be to blame?). So I'll be needing another copy of Hombre, and then I could get involved too. Thanks for putting this together, sorting it out, etc! smile

What is the SID2SID for? Completely non-standard aftermarket modification which most people don't have, supported by exactly 1 tracker (and I assume approximately 0 demos and games) - seems like the second SID is in there sleeping most of the time. And if the SIDs have to be the same, it doesn't even give you the option of switching between 6581/8580 in the same machine. What is the main use for it (just curious about it)?

It's not anything new, but everyone who hasn't got it already, you should download it now, it's great.

Now I would like to see a new release from Vincenzo, please, thanks. smile

Or so amazingly hi-fi, if you look at it like that. smile

Cybertracker for the nooby interface, Ninjatracker for being sexy, SDI for being the best.

Do DPCM and triangle at the same time. Then you still have room to do an octave bass and super-fast square wave melody in the pulse channels, and an open hi-hat between kick drums (and possibly even a snare to do the backbeat too) in the noise channel. Untz untz untz untz.

Vibrants - Smack My SID Up
PRI - Bronx Vanilla (and every other song by him, check Pool Party especially)
Jeroen Tel - That's the Way it Is
Fanta - Fanta in Space
Purple Motion & Skaven - Second Reality soundtrack (not really chip? listen to it anyway)
kb - Second Reality soundtrack (for the C64 remix of the demo)
XLENT - A Final Hyperbase - Enigma [Hyperbased 'enjoy the pokey' 2xatarixl mix]
Dane - Edge of Disgrace soundtrack (under Musicians\Mitch and Dane\Dane in the HVSC)

I agree with Misfit Chris and Akira about the two AHX ones also, they are great.

Chipmusic.org should have different logo art at the top on every refresh, like at Pouet.

I disagree, I like the one we have, and consistency is good. That said, it does look cool at the sites that have it, but they are generally less 'stylish' than this one, hehe.  smile

Now, back on topic, everyone! Back to waiting for Sander to post... tongue

An exceedingly lame "chipmusic.org" logo, in almost trashbaby colours:

... and in a more standard PC font it gets even uglier:
