I am aware that the Nanoloop Two does not require a battery for saves however I have an original Nanoloop 2.6 cartridge and was wondering if it took a battery.

I attempted to open up the NL 2.6 GBA cart however the front panel would not slide down with ease. I assume that it's a chip on the board that is interfering with the sliding of the front panel and don't wish to break any of the little snaps on it.

Any help or information would be appreciated.

pricing of midi cable?

Does anyone have any tips on how to lessen the "hiss" in vocal samples?

I've tried a couple of different frequency cut offs with low and high pass filters and can't seem to get it right...

How's it going folks.

I wanted to start a thread on my take on how I create kits in LSDJ and allow a thread for those who also make kits to provide their input, tips and tricks.

There is a youtube video with 2xAA showing the process on making kits and little-scale has a blog post on how he makes kits.

My method:
Software - Audacity (free program)

1. Load sample.
2. Set to 11,468 Project Rate (Hz). [input by AWESOMECAT]
3. Set audio track to mono.
4. Cut silence before and after sample. (Keep in mind that the sample is limited to 2 seconds in length)
5. Apply Compressor Filter.
(5a) I like to add an Amplify Filter that clips a little to increase the volume. Completely optional.
6. Apply Lowpass Filter with cut off frequency at 5,734 Hz. [input by AWESOMECAT]
7. Export as "Other Uncompressed Files" -> Options -> WAV (Microsoft) + Unsigned 8 bit PCM

Currently working on kits with samples taken from a Texas Instruments Speak & Read.

My mix of kits both personally made and hand picked are available via my Dropbox!

Try to get some new carts. 32M carts are ancient and if they are the EMS style carts, you will have to have a relic of a transferrer.

At the bare minimum for flash carts, I recommend getting the 64M EMS USB Flash carts. You can back them up to your computer via usb cable.
