Pony vs. Unicorn.

I've been using a Retro-bit NES to USB adapter dongle for years without issues.

Thank you!!!! I'll follow this guy and see it can help me more.
I got it to work for a couple minutes but then sound stopped.
I had to close out Famitracker and unplug the keyboard but I think it's working now.

It uses a USB cable right?

Make sure the USB cable is made for data transfer and make sure it's a good USB cable.

I managed to find a 100 ohm resistor and while the backlight is hardly any dimmer, it actually solved the problem. I am still planning on getting the higher values recommended as well as I think a much dimmer brightness level will actually be more convenient and smooth it out further, in instances where the batteries aren't fresh. I then had some flickering problems but quickly realised I'd just soldered it poorly. A lot of screwing and un-screwing was involved. Thank you very much for all of your responses.

If you want to get super geeky, you can get a potentiometer with knob to adjust the brightness on the fly.

Help! The link to Mottzilla page is dead and I really need to download this. Does anyone have the installer? So annoying not to be able to save more than once! If someone can help I'd really appreciate it.

I tried this years ago and this was made with the plan to continue working on the code for it for more stable features... never went past that.

I had issues with save files. It's a neat idea, just wished the guy had the time to continue tinkering with it.

For a first release, this is actually pretty good.

I was fortunate to be able to do so and it happened by chance! I mean I buy my cables and stuff at local stores but when I wanted a Gameboy pro-sound modded for LSDJ, I had to go online to buy  because I don't know a thing about soldering boards and etc. Turns out that a shop called Thursday Customs is local to my state (in fact, about an hour and a half away where I live.) So yeah, it is definitely nice to be able to get stuff near home smile

Justin does some real clutch work. I had him take care of a few commissions for me before I moved to Taiwan.

How's it going everyone.

Simple question.

Do you guys tend to purchase your audio equipment and/or parts locally to help support local stores or do you purchase your equipment and items online via Amazon/eBay.

Even though I'm in Taiwan, I try to purchase as much of my audio parts (connectors, wires, heat shrink, chips, etc.) locally if at all possible. I also try and purchase audio equipment from small local pro-audio shops in efforts to support their business.

I could probably save a few bucks doing it online through pchome or ruten, but I try to support small businesses whenever I can.

With the chiptune scene being in my eyes, economical, would you guys rather save a few bucks with Amazon or drop some cash at a shop?

I'm very okay with this.

What a time to be alive.

Taiwan's chiptune scene is largely non-existent in what I feel is due to a huge emphasis on school and education.

Music equipment such as mixers, synthesizers and turntables are marked up due to them not having a market for it here.

Any "retro" consoles are shipped here from Japan. Very few retro gamers and due to lack of space, when a new console generation comes out, most people sell or get rid of the previous console.
