A new version just out... http://experiment.nashnet.co.uk

Is anyone actually using this?
It's pretty neat, and it's free. When I first saw it I was all like "ZOMG THAT'S THE SHIT!" but I'm hopelessly stuck with Renoise. I imagine it's a tracker dream come true for someone who's already got their favourite DAW or something.

So, has anyone tried / is actually using this and what are their experiences?

The curved outlines remind me of the C64's graphical ASCII set, which means awesome.

You are right! I've always loved the look of those C64 trackers, but I'm too scared to try them out. Everybody's saying how unfriendly they are. big_smile

Ah, it turns out it's not really a bug, just something you have to deal with. I posted a thread about it here-

The best way to avoid unstable tempos is to not bother with tempo (Fxx) commands and simply use the global speed settings. Doesn't quite give you a lot of freedom, I know!

Is there a way to encourage famitracker to be as uneven as possible. For experimentation's sake? big_smile

And to balance it, I made one for dubmood:

Would you mind if I polished that one a bit?

bare in mind im still in the learning progress but any tips/ advice would be great!

Ah yes. I have a general recommendation. Make sure you set the replay routine to ProTracker 2.x, and NOT 3.x.
That way you can change samples while a note is playing which is essential for 'phase' effects.
Also try to find modules by Sonik members (Maza, Stargazer, Oxide and Grim). You can learn every almost amiga chip trick from their work.
Furthermore, 4mat has an awesome 3-part tutorial on his blog:

Good luck and have fun!
