CHIPZEL

BAFTA-Nominated Chipzel is the alias of Niamh Houston, an independent Northern Irish chip-musician who indulges in the use of Gameboys to create energetic, melodic dance tracks. Through taking the original 8bit sound and manipulating it into something frantically hard-hitting, Chipzel has seen crowds of all ages turn to “raving loons”, taken right back to their days of retro gaming.

After absolutely killing it at SuperByte Festival in Manchester, it seems only right to bring the guy back to the North West as soon as humanly possible!
"During 1989-1993 TDK wrote chiptunes, on the Commodore Amiga, for demogroups such as Anthrox, Crystal and Melon Dezign. He moved to video game development in 1992, composing for titles such as Wing Commander, Duke Nukem, Populous 3 and Dungeon Keeper 2. He has worked on a number of BAFTA award winning video games, and now heads up the sound team at Codemasters on the F1, DiRT and GRID franchises. TDK came out of retirement in 2011 and released his first chiptune album, Reawakening, in 2012. His 2nd album will fuse his passion for chiptune with his other passion for the violin, which he has been playing since he was 6 years old"
