when I had a similar non booting issue oliver gave me this advice and it worked. that should take you back to the beginning and all your banks will be fine.

Topic: Nanoloop usb bank issues (14 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
Proud owner of a shiny new nanoloop midi usb adaptor. After figuring out how to get it running I put managed to get shitwave and nanovoice on their just fine. Saving banks and sending them is an issue though. It sent 8k before I get an error message from windows which shuts the program off. Upon uploading the last the noise saves of the bank are missing (B,C,D,E,F). With a different bank, it only saved 4k which turned out to be only the r and l channel. I tried multiple cables. The DMG will shut the program, but the pocket works. Roms load just fine, have not tried updating nanoloop to the scrolling logo. Anyone else have this issue?

Re: How to make music with a SNES console? Software in cartridge? I'm miss (22 replies, posted in Nintendo Consoles)
You'd need a place keep the samples for the SNES to play. So you'd at the very least, have to make a hardware modified version of the Super Game Boy with a place to put them. And probably have to alter the BIOS so it knows to send the incoming commands from the GB to where ever the samples are going to be.
The manual says the sgb sound program goes straight to the APU on start up, where it has control of 73 pre-loaded sounds at 4 intervals and 3 volume settings (sounds like the WAV channel in LSDJ?)
If the game is sgb compatible, like animaniacs there should be commands buried in there for sgb, so yeah on the altered BIOS. Having a pre-established set to attack is a bit better. Considering the score data was premade for the snes before being loaded on the cart that gb to snes interface would still be nuts.

I still believe that with a combined knowledge of snes, super gameboy, and patience a .gb rom could be made that would combine the awesomeness of both systems. The gameboy programming manual says that one can diddle the other and that midi thru is doable. Sure it sounds like a coding nightmare, but that existing would be just neato. oh and this Kankichi-kun, anybody run into this? Manual says it's the tool for creating the snes scores, and google is not being too kind with it.

This is why we need newly produced GB PCB's.
I believe Kitsch is working on that. It was on his thread awhile back...

Re: Game Boy Pocket LCD Issue (21 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
So it "POST"s and I can hear the startup sound, but no Nintendo logo (or lack thereof) appears and the screen is split in half by a column of pixels..
I had something like that happen whilst backlighting a pocket. Turned out I sliced the ribbon cable on the back when I removed the foil. Drove me nuts, but I did fix it. See if that's what happened, if so, then attempt to put pressure on the cable and see how much screen comes back. Pressure was the key to that fix in my case. had to put the original foam directly under the slice and screw the case back up. not a problem since, but I should probably never take it apart again. Good luck.

Re: Battery powered amps for busking? (41 replies, posted in Other Hardware)
I don't busk, however I do own a Danelectro Honey Tone. These are cheap, cheesy little 9 volt battery powered amps. It puts out some decent sound, so maybe this is something to consider. I know Smokey Amps and the Pignose 7-100 have a bit of a reputation.
I have had all 3 and recommend each.
-Smokey for more quiet situations and really dirty sound, if you need louder a 4x12 cab will work. doubles as a distortion head.No controls.Pocket sized. 2 AA's
-Pignose runs on as many AAs as a gameboy printer, real loud. even has knobs for guitar straps. One knob for volume and power. The case opens with a latch for tone control. Bring a friend and they become your wah pedal. Imagine the Tin Foil Hat Brigade with one guy swinging a box open and shut.
- Honey Tone gets the most work from me though, headphone jack, distortion control, tone knob, and a snazzy belt clip to go with your cool gameboy belt holster.

But what if I want to play gigs and stuff. Would I need to mod it then? Also, would you recommend modding it yourself or buying it pre-modded?
modding is kinda like icing, cake is still cake without icing. D.i.y. if your capable it just feels good, pay if you can't, but still want mod...
Got my DMG in a junk shop, under piles of electronic junk.
"sure it works" the shop keep said.
Had to fix vertical lines though.

Lookin' good! - I especially enjoyed learning about LSD.
the blog is dope, I had a 3hr sitting with that game last month, totally worth the time. Kudos on porting it to PSP. It is a game you share war stories and flashbacks about. Hard to forget. Keep it going.
