At least when it's not used against other people, it's typically a positive stereotype. (Fat beats etc.)

Okay, but I can argue that when I say "my nigga" it's a super positive thing because if I ever say that about you, it means you're one of my closest friends.

I say gay when I think something is stupid. I'm also bisexual. Where the hell does a guy who likes dick yet uses gay as a pejorative stand?!?!?!

But yeah, I try not to say things that will offend people. I keep that kind of talk for the friends I know have thicker skin.

oh my fucking god this.

Also, I'd love anything that can make super destroyed glitch sounding stuff on the fly. If you listen to the last half of this song: http://wizwars.bandcamp.com/track/physical-memory-dump, I'm doing all that shit live in LSDJ by fucking with the sync command to make notes stick and get all glitched out...it was fun to do but I'd love a piece of software that outputs stuff that glitchy, and the user could fuck around with various settings and parameters. I'd use that so fucking much.

lol wizwars you must know a lot about Washington

Well, I did live there for five or six years... tongue

And from what I remember, the cops took marijuana possession a lot more seriously than they do out here, considering that someone in our apartment complex once called the cops saying that they smelled weed smoke coming from our apartment, and they actually showed up...

Cali doesn't need legal weed because the cops do not give a fuck if you smoke it. The only time it becomes an issue is if they bust you with intent to sell. But it's a fucking misdemeanor and a $100 ticket at most for simple possession. A lot of times they just take it and give you a warning. Legal marijuana only matters in states where they actually treat it like a crime.

I dig that this is the Cali thread now though. Might need to coordinate with some folks because I think at some point next year Dasid and Wizwars are going on tour.

Is this now the California thread?
I mean. Yuba City / Sac is like, seven or eight hours north of LA, and might as well be a different state.

Yeah for sure. If you have an open mind musically, The Smell is one of those places you can go literally almost every night (they have probably four or five shows a week) and hear music you'll enjoy.

To be fair, I hate all of those things. I have front lit GBCs for functionality only (I was tired of not being able to see what I'm doing on stage), but they're not bright and they're certainly not flashy. Though your second point does stand.

Everything Dasid just said is true.
Also, The Smell exists in that location and is probably the most popular indie venue in Los Angeles. I just went to a show there last month and will be there on Friday for a little bit.
I will however have to write an explanation of how to get there because if you don't know where it is, it's somewhat of a bitch to find (the entrance is in an alley off of 3rd st called harlem pl, between spring st and main st)

It's Shawn Phase.
And it's during a montage of artists playing, there is a short cut of Shawn playing guitar with the Powerglove. I'm pretty sure the original cut of the film that was available for streaming on the IFC website (I think it was) way before the DVD came out showed footage from that same show of him setting his guitar on fire.

Also, stage props are stupid. I'll at least give Shawn credit, he was doing that shit from 2003-2007, maybe even earlier.

Yeah I used to write some killer fucking melodies that were happy, tried to have a good amount of variation within my songs. I usually failed because I'm kind of a hack, but my track Handheld Hero, which can be found under my ..uploaded music on this site, that was kinda the shit. But I got really bored making music that is technically interesting, even if I only wrote one or two songs that fall into that catagory. I just wanna write the most hardcore music I can and inspire playful violence at shows.

For the record, I've never done drugs.
But I do think drugs, especially psychadelics, could be useful for allowing a person to be more experimental with their approach to making music, which could certainly result in something musically interesting.

drugs.

I open the blog and literally the first thing I see is my "entire" discography posted (this isn't actually true but I'm glad that it's becoming increasingly less common to find people who know about the 13 or so EPs I put out before "Game Boy Rock") plus a nice, flattering, basic description of what I do.

I'm completely fine with it. Believe me, I could use the money from people "paying what they want" on my Bandcamp. I don't work, my wife and I just had a kid, boo fuckin' hoo etc. But I download so much mainstream (and some obscure stuff like 70s library music vinyl rips) stuff from these type of blogs that I'd be a mega hypocrite to ever complain. I'm stoked that people give enough of a fuck about my existence that they'd want to share / download my music.

So fucking cool!
