using a fine tipped soldering iron will keep the heat focused on the ribbon cable. but if the gbl is the same as the pocket then you may have some problems

is there any difference between the standard link cable and the dmg07 link cables, in this instance?

When the Gameboy is turned off, no current will through out of the battery, and that's the same no matter what. But a DMG-07 has an active circuit that will use a (very) small amount of power from the master Gameboy when it's turned on, even if nothing else is connected to the DMG-07.

continuing from this

the normal link cables connect the grounds of each gameboy, but not the 5v lines, there is no direct connection of power between the two gameboys, only indirect via the clock lines etc, but the link cables are passive and don't need any power to run, they are just transmitting signals.

the DMG 07 four player adapter has some circuitry in it which needs power to run which it takes from the gameboy, this drain is minimal, i doubt if you timed how long your batteries lasted with it plugged in and not, there would be no diffrence.

...TWICE AS MANY DMGS???

yea i should do a new pic at some point, i got 3 "banana boxes" full of gameboys and a draw for all the special ones.

Is the 101 the front lit one?
if so i have a completely working one minus the screen i could sell or trade

actually its the backlit one, and of all the parts i need i have a near complete one without a screen so... but thanks for the offer, just out of intrest what would you be wanting? there are a few parts on those boards that work with both models

hi all, does anyone have an AGS101 gameboy SP they want to sell for cheap?

i need parts too so if some a broken in some way they still might be good.

i got one where some kid had broken the screen, cartridge slot, charging slot and link slot, but now it works fine big_smile

thanks everyone

ooh i might have it smile

correct me if i'm wrong...

but it looks like a mono effect.  to maintain stereo you'd need two of these, or a different IC with L-input and R-input (or whatever).  and L- and R-output

unless i missed something...  its probable

true, these are guitar effects so they are mono you would have to sum the audio or use two chips.

that also means that any pots used would have to be stereo making them bigger, unless you had maybe a bank of SMD digital pots...

still i think that you would only want delay on one channel, delay on drums sounds horrible. so you would probably be using two gameboys anyway.

you could fit it with set pot amounts, and then just an on off switch

Also, if you heat a spoon with a dab on solder on it, you could put a small hole in it.

i bought two of these to try this kind of thing, simple answer is no,

i am thinking of making a wireless adapter thing for the SP that can link with midi or another gameboy wirelessly but also transmit the sound wirelessly so you can have it totally portable but still plugged into the mixer.

also your original thing about having headphones on the SP, i fit headphone jacks to all my SPs which saves having the adapter

that's too bad you can't use them for wireless sync.

but your idea is amazing. as always.

they might still be useful for something i will have to keep playing about with them. but basically if you plug one into your gameboy and switch it on without a game in, then it comes up with a different menu. the SP can recive bootable code through its link port, which is how the wireless adapter creates the menu. but it means they are smart, and don't just convert the link cable signals to wifi.

but we will see smile

also, could you use this to sync lsdj wirelessly?

couldn't you mod it very easily to work with the DMG? or with an arduinoboy?
