There is no programmable chip (that I am aware of) that is a drop in replacement pin for pin with the standard IC

sound quality and tone are actually both issues of the player

I honestly dont think crashing causes instability as the rom is not changed due to a crash. it is "possible" to corrupt the save data on the cart which can make the songs do silly things but not really mess with the program itself

prepare for the market flood.

It's like a not hard mod. like adding a lollipop to DMG. Very little combined purpose, very low usability of either after, no point. It's as dumb as making a gameboy clock mod where you put a small digital watch in the case. the two are no more related after than the were before and neither are as useful as they were. They have no synergistic effect.

Pls stop this stupidity

I had to tell a guy the other day at work that it's a bad idea to carry his social card in his wallet. Some people scare me. Information and it's security is a sensitive subject and very questionable these days.

Only nice thing about being a mod is the section other user don't have access to, Otherwise it's a ton of work with no thank you's and a high level of expectation that you have immediacy in dealing with internet troubles.

Read write speeds

You realize the whole collection can fit on an sd format, not even sdhc, and my guess is it will support sdhc (have not read if it does/does not)

Also back on topic I wonder how he is dealing with the saves. I wonder if they are stored on a flash IC until the gameboy is reset then "transferred" back onto the sd card. will be interesting to see how the hardware of this cart pans out. Im also curious about power draw as I know this was an initial hurdle he said he would have to overcome

gonna venture and say its gone too far. anyway again with what I said about the ICs on his board.
