Not sure what kind of wire that is, but it's in every headphone I've ever fixed.  It's AWFUL to solder.

I thought about being an undergrad in a music tech program, but now I've decided to just go in as an electrical engineering major.  I think it will be for the best!

So gonna watch this.  Can't wait to listen to your rework!  Mega Man 3 was my favorite soundtrack.

I'm excited for Nex's PCB.  Keep it up! smile

I think this will take care of all our problems.

I just got 2.6 for my micro.  The hiss is pretty bad, but I don't notice it too much.  I plan on using the Datathrash PISSbox live.

The Gameboy's envelopes seem to be smoother (at least when I compare Famitracker's implementation of volume enveloping vs. LSDJ's. I don't know if it's caused by the hardware or the software, though), while the NES seems to just have a smoother rounder sound overall.

You're crazy man!  NES has some of the best envelopes and volume control around.  (At least on the pulse channels).

Also, NES with expansion sound dumps on anything GB.

Excellent!  Really gets groovin' there in the middle.  Love the plucky sounds.

When I have time (hopefully soon) I will write a comprehensive how-to article, and make the code, instructions etc available for free and open.

Wonderful!  Thank you so much.

Dang, and here I was hoping it was PDF_Format. sad

Very cool  MIDI triggered loops of track sequenced from trackers would be superb!

I have a phone charging one that I think is the same.

IIRC, the earlier versions at least used a custom fabbed IC that Curt Vendel designed from the VHDL files available for the original chipset.  I'd be interested in a sound comparison between the original TIA and this.  Anyone have more info?

There is also Paul Slocums loopcart and sequencer kit.  You can also make and load custom loops for synthcart.  I would love to see more 26K music!
