I'd rather risk building it if it saves me money.

Well if it isn't that much surface mount components involved, there isn't that much risk unless you don't have patience. One thing I learned about soldering is not to rush, and you'll be ok big_smile

I think i don't have ane outlet here

I mean a power outlet. Thing you plug your a power cord into to get power to the device.

So, like I said, I don't see how that would help. How does removing the ground help with grounding? And is it possible to ground a device with only a two prong power cord?

Well..."The ground slot and the neutral slot of an outlet are identical. That is, if you go back to the fuse box, you will find that the neutral and ground wires from all of the outlets go to the same place. They all connect to ground (see How Power Distribution Grids Work for details on grounding). Since they both go to the same place, why do you need both?..."

Edit, read more, because my quote sounds like you dont need ground big_smile You do to prevent shock on devices where the enclousre is metal/connected to ground.

Also, if you are having trouble with PC noise it may help to invest in one of these:

I purchased mine for less than $.40 and my noise issues were fixed.

what is this?

Its a grounding (cheater) plug: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheater_plug

EDIT: "Cheater plugs are also used to break ground loops in audio systems.[4] This practice has been condemned as disregarding electrical safety.[4][5] An alternative is to use an isolation transformer made specifically for this purpose."

You could contact Apeshit about the Front PCB's, He did 2 prebacklight ones for me.
Best bet on finding gameboys would be ebay or craigslist.

I already have the backlights and stuff I need, also, about ebay and craigslist...I'd rather support my Bros here at CM.O big_smile

I'm looking to get one or two greyboys that can cosmetically be a little rough, but have no lines. I'm sick of having a few horizontal lines on my DMG. Better yet, to save money it would be sweet if someone had a spare front PCB, I know that many people have spare back PCB's but I don't think there are to many spare fronts laying around... big_smile

I'm located in Ohio, US; Sorry UK folks that need money

I hate to sound dumb but can I get a little more info on this?
Would I just need to buy a single one of these AAA's and just wire the pocket to use a single battery? Or do I need two?

From what I understand is that that battery would work fine, but would run out fast because it is only 500 Miliamp Hours...correct me if I am wrong fellow CM.O dwellers... big_smile

This may sound dumb, but did you try messing with the contrast?
