Messing around with Arduino based synth (FrauAngelico - drummer) since friday.
My friend, one of the founders, gave me this nice gift.
Photos are from a train:

Yeah. Great. I just now (from friday) have FrauAngelico (drummer) as a gift from Ondřej. Happy for this present.
It's the second (after dingoo) smallest piece of gear I have now.
I still don't know everything about hacking it's open source code and board, didn't try midi implementation, but it has cool features and sound as it stands now.
Messing around with it all the weekend on the road, in the train etc (battery life isn't quite long, just few hours, but I didn't have a brand new 9V battery).

The first person I heard about using Gameboy to make music was Ondřej from Duo (sometimes Trio) Hugo & Zoe from my hometown Brno.
Hugo & Zoe (Vocal & DMG1+Nanoloop) are playing gigs since 2007 and they are not labeled here on Chipmusic or wasn't labeled on 8bc.
Ondřej also make some stuf with Arduinos and make Custom gameboys (Prosounding, Backlighting etc...), circuitbent and they cooperate with fashion shop called Minimon.

I think low cost interfaces are nearly on the same level.
It just matter what you want to record. I think small interface with just RCA connectors and small mixer unit is great for stereo/dual input recordings as well as usb mixer unit or small saffire or M-audio. These more expensive interfaces have just great preamps (you can substitute this with small mixer like tapco or behringer, that you can use it on live gigs).
The only reason why to buy some more expensive interface with XLR inputs is to use it with Condenser microphone for a Phantom +48V (also this you can substitute with small mixer unit). (ok. maybee there are some differences in sound and latency caused by the native drivers and some comfort differences).
So, If you have money, buy it. Different things convenients different peope.
I'm using Saffire Pro 10I/O for bigger recordings of a band, Alesis Multimix 8 (I think Alesis Multimix 8 USB 2.0 could be great choice for more separate inputs) and i use direct line input of my PC a lot (cause I'm lazy to connect and disconnect things every time when needed...).

Thanks.

Yeah. I like their soft too.
I'm messing around with BTB and 0303 sometimes.

Disgree, Martin(e).
I'm a member of a band 'To žluté co máte na kalhotkách' from the end of year 2006. I play Commodore 64 and our music in really not old style tracker demo music. We played lots of gigs, mostly in Brno, Prague, Ostrava, Bratislava and Košice with other electronic music bands from Czech republic and Slovak republic.
I purchased EMS 32M card in April 2008 and I'm making chipmusic in LSDJ since then.
There was no USB card in that time...
I met Ashimoke who invited our band to play a gig, but I Donť know about his career too much.

Anyway. Chiptune comunity is a part of Czech and Slovak Underground Electro music comunity  and is quite small. I met people using Gameboys, GP2Xs, Dingoos, ZXSpectrums, Cammodores64, Renoises, BacktoBasics (from Bludgeonsoft) and KorgsDSs. But I didn't see any One man band here playing Chipmusic.

I've started to compose chiptunes in the early 1991 on ZX Spectrum 128k+ with ACB stereo output. In Czech and Slovak republic (formerly federation) i knew personally around 20 chiptune artists. Today i don't know nobody (i am active in some music/audio forums here) and i think i am first here, who purchased DMG-01, EMS USB cartridge, LSDJ, backlight, ProSound mod etc.

I have MMC2IEC (it works with Prophet64). Every device works different. it depends on possibilities of saving directly to D64 image created od C64SD.

Iď like to try it too.
Anyone have this for download?

It was completely forgotten.
Sorry guys.

I don't use any external device for this. just internal line input of my PC.
Anyway you don't need any soundcard that has more than ONE stereo Input (if you like to record to your PC to multitrack software and work with it here)
If you want to make mastering (equalization, using effects) in your external, standalone multitrack recorder (something like ZOOM...) and make final mix directly here, than export the final recording to your PC, that's the other way. I personally think more complicated .

google
http://radagast.ca/C64_svideo/C64_Svideo.html
for S-video you can do cable by yourself, just need 5din plug and Cinch plug and connect Video out (PIN 4) of C64 To Cinch HOT (the middle one pin) and C64 ground (PIN 2) with Cinch ground (TIP / SHIELD...)

Sure I forgot...
you'll need to make second one for audio
Audio out (PIN 3) of C64 to another Cinch hot (the middle one) (you will need to buy 2 cinch plugs) or you can use Jack plug if you like to plug it to amp ...
and C64 ground (PIN 2) to this second Cinch plug gound (TIP / SHIELD...)
