Maybe take a photo of a gameboy running nanoloop (if there IS a nanoloop on that cart) With icons of menu (above and below sequencer). As I remember, earliest nanoloops ware made on different pirate carts.

OK. There are 3 different versions of Nano:

Nanosynth
http://gbdev.gg8.se/files/musictools/Ol … Nanosynth/

Nanovoice
http://gbdev.gg8.se/files/musictools/Ol … Nanovoice/

and Older? First? version of Nanosynth (called Nanovoice) (with source code in C)
http://swiki.hfbk-hamburg.de/MusicTechnology/132

Nanosynth can't be synced via some clock (serial port of Gameboy) ...

Nanovoice can be synced in the same way as Old Nanoloop, as E.S.C. mentioned...

About First version of Nanosynth/Nanovoice (from one of my old posts):
The only difference against the other Nanosynth rom is, that when you hit Start, it doesn't switch between mono / stereo delay mod, but it switches between normal / sync mod
in Sync mod it waits for triggering:
I remember that connecting 2 of GB serial's pins triggers a note, disconnecting these pins triggers another note etc...
You can try it alone, or I can try it same as you from a scratch
There was (maybee!) some other thing to do, connect one of another pins to ground. I actually don't remember that. It's more than year I tried to work with this rom.
...

Or I can record it to sampler or DAW and play it and effect it right there... No, that's not a solution...
I didn't try midi in MSSIAH. Actually power of C64 is in some detailed microediting and tables and switching instruments quickly in one channel. I don't think you can do this in MSSIAH with or without midi controller, Or using any type of SID soundcard, unless you'd like to use another tracker in your computer (eq. Renoise?)
For me this way doesn't make sence either.

Sure I have that kind of idea. If there's anyone who tried to use C64 with live band, He can confirm that no software is made for this yet (Ok, Mssiah is on some kind of half way between). There must be new software made by musicians for musicians.

Defmon is more experimental oriented, shining in making tune from scratch live. This does work if you are improvising with another musicians, but that's not what I'd like to do on concerts...

And... It's much more handy to use any of my keyboard synthesizers rather than Cynthcart or Retroskoi...

Hi
It's a while I have some idea for a Tracker / Music sequencer for C64.
I've been using C64 for a long time with a band and I was looking for some tracker more oriented for using live on stage.
I wasn't satisfied with anything done yet (sorry guys, respect for all Your work, but it doesn't work for me).
So, anyone interested for my ideas?
Cheers
ryba

There are no people, only spambots... but we are awesome indeed.

Yahama CX5M - story of realtime sequencer DMS1 and it's creator Abdul Hafiz Ibrahim

I came across this article, great story to read, so I'm posting it here
thanks to Tudy from Brno finding this

I have NL 2.2 but I don't use it, it's different in controls and I find it difficult around saving / loading. Each track is fixed as Instrument and I also think it's not variable for each step (don't remember exactly). I think you can change volume/envelope/gate, pitch, and filter for each step...

SD2IEC is exactly what you need and want. Mssiah actually saves and loads files directly to/from root directory of SD card. Works with Mssiah sequencer also. It's strange, because in other cases /with other programs you can't write directly to root directory, you need D64 images to work this way.

Pěkný! Great, looks cool!

It's a game. So be a child and play. Enjoy it. I you're stucked, leave it and start something new as mentioned. It doesn't matter, if some of that loops compose a whole track. Don't take it too seriously.

I have NL 2.2 (can't get into it)

NL 1.2 (really like it, but it's little bit slow (especially in changing patterns) and I can't compare it to other NL1x, because I didn't have any yet), I don't work with noise channel, but I like Wav channel a lot and One channel for both pulses fits me for my style of work. Also it doesn't have lot of possibilities for work with patterns. I don't use sequencer. It doesn't have lot of memory (only 4 banks). But I like, how it sounds and i like to work with it.

and I have NL Mono (simply great, but it's hard to program some melodic basslines in Click channel - unlike on Wav channel in NL1.2)

there are some great vids exploring what's going on in simple circuits and what electronic components do there

I thought if It doesn't have any other features that I've missed...
And I didn't realize, that there could be some trouble with building a custom cable for someone.

Obviously. OK.

I don't get it. What's it good for? I have DMG4 sync cable on one side and two jacks (input and output) on the other side.
