Warm and punchy. The two words every band will use to describe how they want their mix to sound.

Except Synthpop bands. They want it to sound like Cold Plastic.. in SPACE!

I'm so glad to have you here with all your infinite wisdom

Well I'm satisfied, probably won't enter because it's not my style but I'm glad you cleared some of those points up. Good luck!

No Offense, but it seems just a little bit sketchy seeing someone asking for new songs for a competition and not only that but asking for money to join this competition. It seems like a cool contest and all, and a moderately reasonable way to finance said competition, but I don't know who you are and you haven't exactly made any attempt to make it known who you are. Now i'm not accusing you of anything, but maybe there would be a slightly less sketchy way to go about this?

If nanoloop 2.x sounds chippy and thin, use headphones.
Seriously, there is nothing Game Boy specific in nanoloop 2.x's sound, it's a softsynth. Of course it's limited due to the limited CPU power of the GBA and the 8-bit DAC, but compared to the original GB, sound is very different and the range is very broad. The great advantage, especially for mobile composing, is that you can create sounds instead of just loading them from a fixed sample library.

I'm sorry for advertising nanoloop here. I just couldn't leave this "a game boy is always going to sound like a game boy" statement uncommented.

yeah have to agree, dude, WDUWSTS, you know what sounds that shit can make, it a little bare but shit gets heavy.

Simply because I purchased nanoloop 1.6 hoping for a sound completely different sound than LSDJ, however it would seem I would have more wanted a 2.x for that. 1.6 sounds too chippy, and confuses me (I went through the whole 2.3 lazerbeat tutorial before i got it, and it didnt really transition over -___-). Also, it lacks the features I'd want for thrashing.

Post here or email at [email protected] if interested.

The cart is in perfect condition. I've had it for only 2 weeks and have used it not that much, so maybe it has a dust partical or two on it, but thats it.

good luck getting that trade, a 2.3 cart costs almost twice as much as a 1.6

really good for a first track, you definitely have some cool sounds going there. just keep exploring the sounds and see where it takes you.

i dont like the kaosspad but i fucking really hate the kassilator. this is just furthering my rage.

why would you pay so much money for basically a preset instrument that has shitty sounds and basically cheats so you can feel like you made something with out actually doing anything?
the thing is a toy. its a really expensive toy for lazy musicians.
for me this device just represents another means for talentless people to muddy the world with mediocre music that they falsely feel pride for.
it's a slap in the face to the whole existence of music and sound.

but....i am just a h8or so what do i know?

ur bein a h8r.
the same could be said of any non-manual synthesis instrument. As long as you use it in a creative/original way there's no saying it's not any good. you just need to use it in conjunction with something that can work it.

Really the interface that these things offer if a great way to interact with sound that not many things offer.

sure they're expensive but that's what some people need to get their flow.

This is why I hate stupid shit on the internet. There's no reason to pussy out and delete posts about work that your proud of because one or two people don't think it's worth the time/money.

There were several people who were clearly enthusiastic about the work, and as with anything on the internet there are gonna be people who aren't interested.

People need to grow the fuck up or actually do something they're proud of in the first place.

I like the added screen and stuff, but it kind of takes away the nice simplicity of the older ones, but you know what this means, cheaper old ones! guess i'm getting a koassilator soon.
