I know that my creativity (i guess), and productivity in a given area kind of goes in cycles. Like I'll have a few months where I'm all about visual art, whether it be live visual type stuff, graphics, or whatever, and then I'll have a few months where I'm all about music and trying to make songs.

So I guess the advice that could come out of this would be to try and find another creative outlet during your musical dry spell. It doesn't need to produce anything wonderful, but I know I get frustrated with myself when I'm not producing anything.

ok... that's just not usually what people would think of. I mean, if you're using a midi keyboard with ableton or whatever, that's really software based, just using a hardware interface, as opposed to using an actual synthesizer? i don't know, that's what i think, but whatever

I don't know if i would consider the mpd32 "hardware" per se. It's a hardware interface, which is definitely always nice, but it's just a controller isn't it?

as for myself, if you call the gameboy hardware, i prefer that, but only because of the software, i couldn't do real keyboards because i can't play for shit

it's probably just from the texture of the plastic itself, it's not perfectly smooth plastic,

either way, painting DMGs always ends in the paint just scratching off, in my experience anyway
