i still buy cds, maybe 3-4 in the last month. found some nice cheap new stuff in fopp, i could hardly turn down a new stereolab cd for 50p now could i? or a great compilation of weird 80s industrial/ebm/disco crossover stuff?
1 - i'd just make some new snares
2 - i read somewhere that v commands take up a lot of cpu. have you tried changing the tempo to 110 and the groove to 3/3? you might have to play with the instruments a bit as you are changing the amout of ticks but it might be worth a try.
3 - which part of the psycho music are you trying to emulate? are you using arps? you could try programming some volume changes in the volume collumn in a table and spread the chords accross the 2 pulse channels.
4 - try halfing the tempo of the song and changing the groove to 3/3?

fuck yeah, and which ones? ive been more into "low income tomorrowland" lately, but ive also got "58:46 radio mix", "gold teeth thief" & that mutamassik split "the bidoun sessions", plus some radio sets i found online...
havent heard low income tomorrowland or 58:46 radio mix. i recently brought some of his more recent mixes - Solar Life Raft and Uproot, they have a bit more of a dubstep feel about them but dont let that put you off
to be honest with you im not a fan of the over the top reverb it sounds like youve recorded it in a cathedral!
I like to absorb lots of things.
At the moment I have been listening to:
Autechre EPs box set
Ariel Pink old albums
DJ Rupture mix CDs
Shangaan Electro Compilation
Pere Ubu
Burial
Daphni
Talking Heads
Metal Dance compilation

Day of the triffids is pretty damn good. (The book) The two-parter TV version with Eddie Izzard was aight'
All of John Wyndhams books are worth aread but Triffids is the only one i've read thats post-apocalyptic.
Never seen a film version of it, but im gonna hunt one down.
Check out The Chrysalids. Its my favorate of his, set after some sort of disasterious event with people mutating n shit.
its easy enough making pretty floaty sounds on a game boy, people probably just are not trying hard enough, put the tempo right down low and have crazy long groove settings and fuck all that fast game boy shit filling in every single last space with some crappy random note, play with volume envelopes in tables, the wav channel at slow tempos can sound great.
You could always fuck the fucking game boy right off and use a c64 which has filters so can make very nice pretty floaty sounds.
I like how the website lets me stream all 4 previews at once. It helps me make my mind up about the release more quickerlyer.
Edit: Anyone seen Stalker (1979)? Any good? (I liked the original Solaris.)
the russian film? its ok, it starts off well but quickly turns in to a series of monologues, so its very slow.
the book Roadside Picnic is very nice though
delicatessen
le cite des enfants perdu
brazil
12 monkeys
these are cheesy but fun
tank girl
logans run
judge dredd
mad max
there are lots of much nicer novels and comic books though
i hope you have played the old fallout games
people still order from this guy? lol
Unfortunately he is listed on the LSDJ website as a cart seller.
basing your opinion on a handfull of tracks on this website seems a bit silly.
most of the best stuff isnt even released as mp3s.
get exploring fuckers.
Isn't this a problem in any form of art?
I'm sure that it is 10 times worse in dubstep communities or somewhere like Deviantart.
People seem to be entitled to share every single moment of their lives on the internet, art is no different.
