there's two sounds. a minor third trill (the fast 32nds) and a quick V-I in the background. it's e minor.

yeah it's probably a good thing they don't do name changes: i'd be changing my name pretty much constantly just for kicks

the earlier you change, the better!

how does that plug work? like, what processes does it go through to remove hum?

the "9.25K" ringing plays through pretty much everything in the DMG, including the boot-up routine. maybe you're experiencing something different?

might sound obvious, but cranking the gameboy output so you're running really hot into the preamp will increase the discrepancy between noise floor and E10

and yeah, 9.25K seems to be the ticket, roughly! i imagine under/overclocking would change it, though.

you can't send midi info out of reason.

And people pay for this trash?

Getting a bit off the topic here, but Reason's best used as a ReWire client inside a "proper" DAW imo. It'll take anything you throw at it MIDI-wise, at least.

People pay $200 for Massive, and it's just a softsynth. So, I guess that's something to think about!

No need to get indignant about it. I just personally find it easier than a tracker interface. Horses for courses!

honestly if i had a mixer it'd probably be a xenyx1202 or some old yamaha 8-channel just to be different - a pal of mine has an old roland pa-60 which would probably sound tight if it still worked.

as far as home recording goes i've got my eyes on this sweet piece of ass

FL studio does MIDI fantastically. Imports the score for each channel separately, as well as all CC automation (even if it doesn't do anything to the GM instrument). Exports any changes you make perfectly, too. Plus the sequencer is pretty neat, imo.

The only downside is that it does wacky things to the tempo when you change the time signature in the project settings (not MIDI) to something other than x/4. Give it a shot, I think the demo lets you import and export midi... maybe not export actually but have a go anyway!

I could be wrong, but I think the OP did the internet equivalent of skipping town after this thread.

Just in FL, zoom in on the click, cut the click out and then move the audio back together so the waveforms match up.
I only do this in soft sections or on fadeouts and stuff like that, though.

The only problem with this is, if you have other tracks, it can throw the track you made the cuts from out of sync with the others if you do this too many times.

Oh yeah of course, if I was doing this in part of a larger mix then it's something I'd do in the mastering stage, personally (so only on one track at a time).

I don't usually run more than one device at once for my chip stuff anyway :<

I like the noise so I don't gate it. Definitely notch out the whine though (9.25Khz).

I figured.  Can I ask what sort of post production you use to get rid of severe clicks?
