So I had a go with the PS2 buttons and I think it turned out okay. They feel a little stiff and stick out all goofy like, but otherwise function perfectly!

Had to file away the A/B slots because the PS2 buttons are a fraction of a millimeter too wide. I haven't doctored the buttons themselves other than the guide tabs. I snapped the tiny tabs off and then for the super wide ones I chipped the sides and then clamped together with pliers. Someone mentioned there being four guide tabs, but for whatever reason mine had only three. Might be regional differences playing a part, or perhaps we got the buttons from different types of controllers (mine were sourced from a broken silver model which didn't come out here until 2004/2005).

Playstation buttons are really difficult to use in a DMG. I got the Dpad in one, but not the buttons. They'd need to be heavily modified just because of their length.

Oh man, looks pretty sweet! I wonder if the "shape" buttons in a PS1 controller would fit a game boy...

The main concern imo is whether or not you like the interface for nanoloop; personally, I find it really unintuitive and difficult to use after coming from a tracker-style interface such as LSDJ. Horses for courses!

korg's analog filters are worth their weight in gold imo

POW. This is a link to the album's page on bandcamp, yo.

Here's some words from said page:

Get your studded belts and power stances ready: Victory Road's debut EP is gonna rock your Chuck's off. A twelve-minute scorcher squeezed out of a single game boy, Four Chord Tropes For Dopes sets out to make yesteryear's goofy pop punk cliches fun and fresh again, and exceeds from start to finish.

Sounds groovy enough to me!
Here's a track from the EP you can download from chipmusic.org.

Enjoy!

Yeah I kinda totally misread what you were asking for (i.e. more established dudes doing actual sets and not just the open mic!).

Still interested though! Will be sending you a demo of my strongest material (imo) once it's done uploading.
