I'm not too high on the pedigree scale, I've had just two premiers, and am about to have an already played piece done with a college orchestra, and another played by a college chamber group.

More classical pedigree than I'll ever have, that's for sure!

I like the way you review (i.e. knowledgeably but never like a music snob tongue), and the references to classical pieces. I mean, that's what everyone's up against when they write ANYTHING. Will be checking this out more often and hopefully sending some of my stuff through soon smile

One more question, is that hard to backup your LSDJ save? Oh and is the proc of the DMG a big issue? (you know when you use a lot of table I heard the song slow down because the proc is too slow or not enough ram) or is that because people use it wrong / you can do that another way?
Thanks for all your replies, that helps a lot!

Using the EMS carts you can do it with relative ease on Win XP, dunno about newer versions though (one bro of mine had a lot of grief with it). Just a matter of installing the drivers which is a bit confusing but definitely not the most confusing! (try getting a korg nanokey to work on XP lmao)

I'm a bit of a nut with tables and I run songs at very high tempos a lot of the time, but I've really only had lag trouble when trying to spam kits a lot.

You only reviewing albums? I mean, if that's the case I'll still have something ready pretty soon, would love to hear the opinion of someone with classical pedigree on this thing.

Also this is a cool idea smile

Maybe next year

What do you need multirom support so badly for? Not exactly sure on the specifics, but the lack of multirom/multisave support is due to a combination of PCB size, cart size, power requirements and the limitations of SRAM and how a gameboy can interact with it.

With LSDJ you can save multiple songs on the one save, anyway.

Hah, nice one Lossy!

Yeah but you don't compose a cover, that's pretty much all the work done for you tongue

pretty much any gathering of people with low-bit software and sound interests is gonna be a pretty friendly place tbh. you're all fantastic!

totally doing this

Audacity should be able to do this. If it doesn't have a discrete panning setting you can bounce the audio tracks to split mono and increase the gain of the right channel to match the left.

Make sure that they're actually panned and that it's not just your headphones or ears being wacky. I don't know about Audacity, but I know GoldWave (shareware) displays a stereo file as L and R and has summing tools, which will help you compare and find the exact gain discrepancy (if any).

oh yeah i don't think there's any "NINTENDO GAME BOY" text and it's a light grey screen cover instead of dark lol

doesn't look very teal to me, the shade of blue pretty much exactly matches all the blue PiL boxes i've seen on google images too

<- no expert, though! smile

Aww, was really hoping for red in the final bunch. Here's to the future, I guess!
