Yeah basically it just sounds like a regular piano-ey garageband song that's been bitcrushed heaps and not like anything actually made with 8-bit hardware.

Could also start with a fast pitchbend for the pop and then a slow one a couple ticks later for the boooom on any of the tuned channels.

Personally, I'd use a sine-ish sound on the wav chan so you can shape the start of the kick synth to be clipped a lot and then smooth it out on the next frame, flipping through the frames using the same table for the pitchbend

Maybe turn energy saving off if you're running an older version of LSDJ, or run from battery if you're using an adapter. I like how it sounds as an effect within a metal track but I think in a finished mix you'd want a more varied pallette of tones... The part where it sounded best imo was ~2:24 where it splits that heavy section right in two and adds a bit of drama.
