Ive always been confused about this.. isn't it easier to just make a appropriate cable versus forcing a huge honking jack in a cheap plastic chassis?

feel the same way about rca while we are at it.

As in cutting the ends off of each cable and then soldering the 1/8" tip to the 1/4" cable? Might be just as difficult to put something like that together and not have it look like a frankencable abomination! tongue

I've tried using frankencables and adapters live (non-chip) with mixed results; there's something about adapting regular TRS cables to/from RCA that lends to this massive zipper noise that doesn't go away (seriously what is that? because I've nfi!). And stuff does like to come unplugged a bit. I still haven't gotten around to prosounding any of my GBs though.

By contrast, my GameBoy emits a high pitched whine that is independent of the volume knob and it drives me nuts! My other DMG has that same high pitched noise but it's much much quieter.

Is the whine at around 9250Hz? Both of mine and my gf's emit the same pitch, I think it's normal to be there in some degree, and it's such a specific frequency that you can take it out of recordings with a parametric EQ and not affect anything else. Dunno how you'd fix it in a live situation though sad

That being said, them lighting up is cool but a bit garish unless all the buttons light up

this. looking forward to unlit custom S/S buttons though! i'm guessing they're more difficult and expensive to produce than the custom plastic buttons?

What was that Chris Cornell song someone posted here a while back? Hilarity!

How public is public, and in what context?

Hey man, can you fix up the first link? I could just google it later but I'll just end up forgetting. But yeah, totally going to give this remix a shot but probably using FL to get the most out of the original stems. Great work on the LSDJ kits, though!

I gotcha. Just thought I'd post a scalper for a laugh smile

Domestic flights are no biggie. Was originally gonna road trip it but driving for 2 days would be a bit of a drag!

OKAY so not 100% on the forum dynamic here but is what I'm doing RIGHT NOW appropriate? (i.e. editing OP and bumping old CC thread of mine instead of making a whole new one)

I figured it was the more efficient thing to do!

Fuck yeah.

That's all I have to say on the matter.

Good gravy, that's the most bodacious album art for a chip release I've seen in ages!

Did designs 010 - 012 really sell out that quickly or did they not arrive in the first place?

Dunno if I have to vision to incorporate it into the bubblegum chip pop sound I want, but that's fucking cool! I've much respect for people who can do such intricate stuff like this.

Haven't been able to actually watch the vid yet though so I'm eager to get on decent net and actually listen to the filter. If there was a way to include an input for envelope CV that would be just tits out insane.
