I might be down. Will have to check my schedule.

You should just lay out the merch on your chipmusic-ing table and like, sell stuff while you're performing.

I don't understand how anyone that hasn't been reading since the beginning can catch up with 6000 pages of webcomic. Just seems like an impossible task.

Teoria is also a good place to learn music theory. My teacher recommended it.

I'm not sure, there's no mention of the computers that were used in the book, as far as I can tell. I imagine they probably used large mainframes or other things that only universities had at the time.

Not sure if I put this in the right forum, but...

I found this book at my local library's used bookstore about a year ago. It looked pretty interesting, although I can't understand the mathy mumbo jumbo inside. Only about a week ago, I discovered that it also came with 4 small vinyl records with some example computer pieces. They're amazingly thin and feel pretty fragile, like a floppy disk without the plastic casing, so I recorded them to my computer in case they ever broke. Unfortunately, only sides 1-3 of the total 8 were playable in full; the rest had too many broken grooves. I thought some people here might find the music interesting.

I didn't do any noise reduction on the recordings beforehand, so apologies for the clicks, pops, and hiss.

You can do more with SunVox than Nanoloop, but Sunvox for iPhone's interface is a little cramped. If you're gonna use SunVox I suggest downloading the PC version.

Goof off until the inevitable shower/toilet "aha!" moment.

I use a Behringer 802. It's not the best thing ever, but it's good for the price.

Nah, Freque (the admin) is just on a bug-quashing quest right now. It'll be back up in a few days.

So is this a webshow or an actual party?

When and where is this listening party?

This is pretty good! Other than the fact that it's a little empty without the vocals and band, I can't really find much to fault it for. Good job!

You can tell if it's stereo or mono by the number of rings on the metal. If there's 2 rings it's stereo, 1 ring is mono.

Try turning down the volume of your noise channel instruments first. Then try turning down the volume of your Gameboy to see if you can find a comfortable level for recording. You don't need a high quality cord and you don't need a pro sound mod unless you're using a Color.

If you're going straight to the line-in on your computer, I believe the quality of the audio you record can depend on the quality of your soundcard. I remember on my old piece-a'-crap laptop I would record line-in and it sounded like shit. If you've got a pretty good soundcard and it still sounds crappy going line-in, you might want to think of investing in a USB Audio Interface plus maybe a small mixer and recording through that.

Also, are you using a stereo male-to-male cable?

Just try and avoid having the wave play by itself too much. Usually the other channels will cover the clicking up very well. You could also try having the other channels at a higher volume, but then you lose the richness of the bass.
