Spain vs Chile was a pretty good game. Not sure what was more ridiculous though, the sending off or the last twenty minutes of the game being played out for 2-1.

Did you hear about this? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal … 749232.stm

Yeah, it's all over the news channels at the moment heh. Sensationalist channel Sky News have had it as breaking news for around 4 hours now. I think fans out in SA have every right to be angry though, last nights performance was dreadful. Still doesn't justify going into the dressing room but large amounts of wages have been spent on their trips. Maybe it's what the players needed anyway.

Also, the US team totally got screwed yesterday. Ref was bought out. Lame.

I think the funniest thing for me was that if Slovenia weren't holding the US players back in the area in the first place one of them could have probably headed it out. Instead it just went straight through and got put in, ha. Shame it got cancelled out, was a legit goal.

Only Deutschland played a good football game. The first real game of the World Cup.

I enjoyed watching them so much. They could go all the way!!!

I feel pretty sorry for whoever finishes second in England/USA group anyway tongue

Holland kick off soon also, I'd put them up there with Spain and Brazil as favourites

anyway getting back on topic, the match was a pretty poor, scrappy affair tonight. I thought England deserved to win but I wouldn't back either side to go far judging from tonight's performance. Still a lot of big teams to play but so far all the ones that have played have been disappointing.

I think the US national team played their best ever. They will definitely make it to the next round, but going beyond that is unlikely. As for England, they are just not the same without Beckham to set up the right plays. I don't like them so I'll be happy if they go home early smile

I've seen them play better in the Confederations Cup before, they beat Spain, led 2-0 against Brazil (but got beat 3-2 in the end). They should make it to the next round, the other teams in the group aren't as good as USA or England (well I assume so, they play each other in 30 minutes though).

I guess you are right about Beckham too. He can't play a full game any more but we really lacked good delivery from corners, free kicks etc last night. Needless to say that the wingers for England were very poor last night (Lennon on the right maybe being an exception). I think England will probably do the usual and get to the quarter finals and then get knocked out by an actual good footballing side haha.

Oh, and good news for everyone that watches football.

YOU MORON, BP IS A BRITISH COMPANY.

hahaha, well my comment was made in jest. just in case yours wasn't then I'll mention that the companies biggest shareholder is based in NY, then the rest of the major shareholders are spread out from China to Norway to Kuwait and invariably the UK, globalisation eh?

Argentina just won a mediocre match. I wish they would stop licking Messi's balls so hard.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. Poor finishing from Argentina and Nigeria were pretty crap all over the pitch (apart from the goalkeeper). Maradona should get rid of Rodriguez from defence too, hahaha.

Maybe USA might be England's little bitch tonight for once? Wouldn't surprise me if they drew though.

Also Tristan never contacted me to promote his release, i posted it because it's cool and he is a cool dude. He is definitely not some kind of new media self promoting hack, he does the work and he pays his dues. I really resent any implication otherwise.

Reading back over what I wrote it sounds like I implied that, everything I wrote was in relation to the BBC article, not your website. Sorry!

Yes I guess so hahaha. Maybe I'm being too harsh as his comments are a small segment of the article but I think if he'd kept up to date with stuff (even without making comments on forums) he'd realise all the recent stuff that has happened and maybe not suggest 8bc? In my opinion a lot of the people that gave me helpful advice as a beginner are also here now, with a lot more substance to topics overall here too.

Anyway the publicity is of course good! Just the parts that the journalist wrote were pretty awful and belittling (nothing new from most journalists though eh? wink )

Nice to see Tristan get some publicity for his new release

actually... no. i'm already quite annoyed by his power-promoting and to see his new release first thing when i head over to bbc is ... sad, to say the least. i think there are a lot of people out there who need (and deserve) promotion much more than him and his overpriced circuitry.
aside from that, i actually do like his works wink

Well, I'd heard about his new release via TCTD before I read this article. I'm not a big fan of his work but I think the reason why Tristan got a mention was it seems an interesting concept to people. I remember watching Reformat the Planet a few years back and finding it a pretty nice concept anyway. To the BBC it might have seemed like it would have been a less interesting article if they'd picked someone who just makes music on a Gameboy opposed to someone who dabbles in circuitry, idk smile

yeah I guess so, a bit crap of them to ask him his views all the time because he's not as involved as others in the community so doesn't really have a great idea of what is going on right now. I'm not sure whether I expected anything drastically different from the BBC though tongue
