THIS IS REALLY GOOD

I played in front of like 10 people at the jam space at magfest and then the next day Virt saw me in the lobby of the hotel and told me he thought my stuff was cool.

Don't worry about it.

I already did that this year though.

I have to say I agree with what Boa is trying to say... if your webstream is your best foot forward and it looks silly and amateurish to the uniformed it isn't going to serve very well as a promotional tool, no matter how much clothes your friends puts on the emperor.

This is 100% why I haven't participated in one yet. As far as video stream is concerned, if I can't make it look half as interesting as an actual show then I don't want to do it for those reasons. Especially since I've been paying much more attention to the visual aspect of my project in the past year or so. Call me vain or whatever.

But hey if that kind of stuff isn't important to you, then by all means dance around your dorm in your sweat pants in front of your macbook. I'll probably watch it and have fun regardless.

I use a teacher's TI-83 overhead projector display bag. It's split into two perfect compartments, one with pockets for the calculators, which are the *perfect* size for DMGs, and the other for the view screen which is the perfect size to fit a small mixer and cables and whatnot.

A little big for day to day use but it's been my essential gear bag for years now. I'll try to take some pics or something.

Also my mother has recently taking up crochet and I'm most definitely gonna have her make me some gameboy cozies for when I don't want to take the big bag around.

SO GOOOOD

Seconding built in waveforms or a wave editor. I waste way too much time looking for samples instead of just learning the damn thing.

Also this is more about the piggy site than the program but a couple more tutorial vids couldn't hurt.

Shitwave 2: Shit Harder.

My first console was a NES. My first computer... I have pretty much no idea what it was... my mom got it for taking some computer proficiency course in the early 90's. I do remember having to learn dos prompts and stuff to use it and everyone treating me like a child genius cause I could load up commanderkeen.exe without any help.

Bare bones set up on a makeshift desk I made today using non functioning PA speakers and a folded up bulletin board thing. My "studio" as of 4 or so hours ago.

Pictured: PC for recording, Nanoloop 1.5 + DMG and Nanoloop 1.6 + GBA SP (Typically live I use a second DMG but I am currently using the SP to compose due to a better screen), ipod touch for transitions.

Not pictured: a mini kp for vocals and a caanoo for lgpt which I am currently learning/incoporating into my set. Also a shitty karaoke microphone.
